  5. Justice League: The New Frontier (2008) - Was okay. Felt odd having this set in the 50s, but it's nice to have a JL movie where Bruce and Clark aren't at the center for once, much bigger focus on Hal Jordan and John Jones. Also nice to have a big bad that isn't somehow related to Darkseid, seeing everyone fight dinosaurs was pretty cool.

I got 2 left on the bear and I like this season just as much as the first. 6 was an absolute insane episode (won't go into any spoilers as to why, but if you've seen it... you know) and then 7 / 8 were different, but emotionally resonant in their own ways as well. It's odd the first season hasn't even hit the Emmys yet, but I can't see how this second season won't be a critical darling (and it deserves it, every single star and guest star is nailing it). Shout out to a show of this quality getting pulled together so quickly. Only a year between seasons.

Really excited for the last silo episode as well. I'm enjoying it, but I am a little frustrated with how much different from the book it is, and how shuffled around the plot line is. It makes for better television I suppose, but so far, it's a show of hundreds of questions and very little answers, and that's not really how the book is. Some things being addressed in the season in the 11th hour, are information freely given in the book early on. I am waiting to talk to my friends about it who are watching it blind, and IF the last episode picks up and gets to some of the juicy reveals, there will be some great reactions from them I'm sure.

I think the creators want to get to Da bomb so they get there by not knocking these people out right away. I think it makes for better content.

I mean J.Law has been blowing up with "what do you mean?" and that happens on the last wing

  16. Batman: Gotham Knight (2008) - A series of shorts supposedly taking place in the Nolanverse between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, although without really being tied to the films in any significant way it may as well be considered a standalone film. The shorts are animated by Japanese companies (including Production IG and Madhouse) and written by American screenwriters/comic writers (including Rucka and Azzarello), so basically Animatrix but Batman. It's refreshing to see some low-stakes Bat adventures, and in half of these he's not really the main protagonist but just portrayed from others' perspectives as like some mystical being fighting crime. Since it's an anthology, the animation style varies, and while Gotham always looks wonderful, the character designs are sometimes kind of ugly imo. Kevin Conroy voices Bruce throughout. It's... comforting hearing him in this role again, knowing that even though I've finished BTAS there are still things of his out there that I have yet to see.

The music cues on The Ultimatum and Love is Blind always kill me. They're always so on the nose.

I was feeling a little frustrated with the lack of answers coupled with the compounding of new questions in this second season of From, but I just got to the end of the finale and okaaaaaaaay they reeled me all the way back in again.

I hear comparisons between this and Lost. Season one is on Prime, but season two is on…MGM+? Lol

We finished binging all six seasons of The Nanny on Max. Good character development, comedy, and running gags throughout. Very good writing. Fran is one of my favorite sitcoms characters now. Grandma Yetta is underrated though. I laughed every time she was on screen.

Yeah it’s so weird. I paid for a subscription to it just so I could watch this season lol. I don’t know of anything else on…MGM+? that I want to watch. My hope is that the show continues to grow in popularity next season so that maybe they can move to just Prime or something. The Lost comparisons are definitely fairly spot on though flashbacks aren’t a thing for every episode. You just get the occasional glimpse every now and then, and most of the story is focused on the present timeline. Show’s got a really interesting cast though and I appreciate that they’ve generally moved past giving as much focus to the family you’re introduced to in the beginning of season one. They’re supposed to serve as your audience entry point, but I mostly found them irritating although I am now deeply invested in the mother character, Tabitha. I think I’m just really happy to see Harold Perrineau in a show that centers him as the lead and treats him with respect after reading about what happened to him on Lost. He’s got a fantastic scene in the season two finale where he’s yelling at God that really hit home for me.

  24. Did they do it, did the gays really bring back Warrior Nun?! I guess I have no reason not to watch it now if it's gonna be longer than two seasons!!! I wish this happens with Paper Girls, which I loved, and any other queer show cut short I didn't bother to start. I hate that streaming has gotten to the point where I don't start anything because they get canceled all the time and they get canceled because people like me aren't watching them, it's such a sick cyclical self fulfilling prophecy, and removing shows from their platforms certainly doesn't help.

Season one of Warrior Nun was really difficult to get through but season two is great. I thought at this point the show was dead
