Yeah that's where I was like "Oh wow, THIS is what all that hype is about?!"

Always fun uncovering musical blind spots you've had for years haha.

Oh for sure they've shot up my list, hopefully I can make it happen.

Everything Walter touches turns to gold, IMHO. Glad you're hopping on the train! There's really something for everybody in his discography... But Quicksand is top of the heap for me. He also co-wrote the vast majority of the C.I.V. album Set Your Goals which is worth checking out as well, IMHO (and was arguably in the band but couldn't really participate publicly due to contractual things with Quicksand's label at the time).

Snapcase is one of the few bands on this line-up that I've never seen/really want to... So yeah... Hopefully you get to see 'em! Their entire discography rips. And on the latter records you get to learn that while Turnstile is doing something really cool and "modern" with it... The general blueprint of what they are doing is really not all that original. LOL

    Seconded this record suggestion. Hard.

Same! Here's the source. I always thought he was in the band on that record but just never toured with them during their original run because of Quicksand. Didn't realize it was a prequel to the whole Chad Gilbert/Hazen St. situation! Hah!

Well damn. I still don’t think the demand will be incredibly high because they are everywhere in the states but still.

Sleeping with Sirens are playing dates with the Used right before and right after Riot (with no shows listed on their site for 9/17 or 9/18) SLEEPING WITH SIRENS - Complete Collapse - OUT NOW .. possible aftershow? Also has anyone mentioned Karol G is playing Soldier Field on the Friday (and Nikki Glaser is playing the Chicago Theatre on Friday as well) - fucking insane the amount of other shows that weekend

Queens might be playing between TPS/DCFC (until we know their setup when they start touring) - stage might look like Trump's bathroom if they play back to back with all those instruments and no breaks - so I'd count it as 2

Foo Fighters are playing a long set too, probably as long as the Cure.. so I think there's room Sunday for a few additions

I think you're probably right about that. Im still kinda surprised QOTSA isn’t headlining over TPS, but it makes sense with your comment in mind.

I think Queens - TPS/DCFC are co-headlining... the leak a week before lineup had Queens as one of the headliners

I see no reason why DCFC/PS would play a marathon set at Riot. And TBH, I find it hard to believe that even on their headlining shows that they won't take a brief break between DCFC and the Postal Service... Even if it's just 15 minutes or something to get their heads straight and re-calibrated to the different vibe between the bands, give fans a break, etc.

Going Death Cab into Queens into Postal Service would make way more sense for all parties involved.

my personal theory is on the schedule they will be separate blocks with a 10-15 min break between. like Queens 6:45-7:45, Death cab, 7:45-8:45, PS 9:00-10:00.... seems like when info started coming out people were split on this, but now i think im on this island alone, lol and Im happy to be wrong about it because i only want to see PS and if they are fully split then i wont feel like i HAVE to hold a spot during death cab, id be more free to see other stuff if they are totally separate.

From an interview back when they announced the tour they mentioned that both albums are the same length as a regular Death Cab set and that they will be played back to back.

It would feel odd having the last band of the day playing a 45min set

Yeah it sounds like it’ll be a conjoined set. Both albums are ~45 minutes long. So my guess is that DCFC/PS get a 90 minute set and then Queens gets a normal headlining set too

The Breeders announced a last splash 30 year tour today. I think that album play is a lock for Riot

They are being very vague in that interview and neither are in TPS I think, unless they are playing this tour but didn't in 2013.. but back to back still doesn't mean there won't be a break.. I've seen Ben do an interview saying TPS is closing but nothing else definitive.. there is a lot of logistics in place that are different for each band to play one right into the other on a festival stage (unless they bring in their own rotating stage).. I just don't see how you can set up both band's equipment all at once - considering TPS will have a huge DJ set up

My guess.. DCFC will probably play an hour, shocked if they don't play 1 or 2 songs after playing Transatlanticism.. QOTSA will probably play 75 minutes.. TPS set will be an hour with bonus tracks..

In 2016, Ween played a much longer set than Flaming Lips who were billed as the headliner
