Speaking of rap, I’m interested to hear how Outbreak is going to go this weekend.

I appreciate how it has hip hop album features of literally a who’s who of vocalists.

I think it’ll go over well. Imo, hardcore and hip hop have always shared a kinship with each other and I think it’s no accident that hip hop’s influence is becoming more commonplace in the culture. Plus, hopefully it gets more curious kids into the music, which is the ultimate goal.

Since it looks like they're playing shows again - did anything come from those allegations against Soul Blind?

Release My Mind, My Garden Grows

From what I understand, the change.org page that came about was bullshit at least, was apparently all hearsay according to the mentions of it I've found on twitter/reddit. I never actually saw any allegations against the band myself so the whole situation is weird to me. Band never mentioned it and nothing else has come of it since, at least that I'm aware of.

I know they lost some support dates with White Reaper and got kicked off a fest in Richmond around the same time as it happened, but I'm in the same boat. Not sure what to think about it since everything around seemed to disappeared into the ether.

Just like everything in hardcore it will get swept under the rug.

I thought so too at first but I looked at the personnel on discogs and they've had two dudes on vocals at least since Street Heat. They did replace a guitarist this year though!

Definitely lacks the punch of the EP's but it is still good.

Drain in Los Angeles pit report:

    Gumm: very good.

Magnitude: LA spinkickers out in full force. New song rocks.

Drug Church: GOATED. Pat was clearly annoyed with how bad people were stage diving and also how people weren’t catching them. Still the highest energy I’ve ever seen them which is saying something. Saw an old lady stage dive. Pat indulged me and let me have the mic for Bliss Out.

Drain: Non stop energy. Obviously I’m old but I’m mildly shocked at how young these crowds are. Pretty sure I saw a 12 year old stage dive multiple times.

ever since the show last week, I've had the 2 step part from Magnitude's Vital Emergence stuck in my head. one of my favorite 2 step parts in recent memory.
