Time to subscribe to Pillar once again purely for access to that vinyl

 

That was so much easier than trying to get 1975 tickets this morning.

 

Got the white vinyl, I mean not like I had much of a choice with the other variants…

 

Well damn. I had to wrap a work meeting and couldn’t get on right at 11. I missed the white vinyl and the others are locked in bundles with hideous clothing. If I can’t have the opportunity for at least a color variant, I’ll skip the preorder and wait for a sale on the standard black variant. I wish they would’ve stated the other colors only being available in bundles. Would’ve jumped on Pillar yesterday LOL. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

I'm fine with just getting a black version. Dumb way to do things imo, but whatevers.

 

I guess there's a pretty good chance the black variant runs out quick? I was gonna wait but I don't want to get stuck waiting years for this album

No clue, hate how they do vinyl now with this whole Pillar stuff

 

Is this band just really bad at assessing demand for their own product, or do they just repeatedly under-produce vinyl on purpose?

 

I think they have continuously dropped the ball on vinyl repeatedly, extremely disappointing…

 

Maybe if those bundles don’t sell they’ll sell those vinyls individually. I’ve got my fingers crossed for that.

 

I bought the cheapest bundle cus I don't want to be without the record and I mean I'll wear the shirt at least. Probably shouldn't have but I'll be sad if they all sell out.

 

They either really suck at it or think they're doing their own version of, like, the Disney Vault or something.

 

This was comically underproduced, like ... the numbers make no sense if you want to sell your album. There's no way there won't be a generic black ... everywhere ... right? Like what is that. 500 copies for black? 2k total or whatever ... don't you want to sell records for the first week?

 

My assumption is it has to do with them being more or less independent. They don't want to front the cost of production? No idea how any of that actually works and I know they do have some kind of distribution deal so maybe I'm way off

 

With XOXO they did have another variant after the original ones went on sale, so maybe that’ll happen again.

 

They're with Photo Finish now as a joint partnership.

Yeah, even by their standards this is wild. There has to be another drop coming, right?

But it's also wild to me that none of their albums are available on vinyl right now via their website, and they own most of them! I remember when XOXO came out and the vinyl sold out and was unavailable for most of the first six months of release, before they finally put more on sale around Black Friday.

 

It makes no sense to me at all. None. Take my money. Haha, I've been begging them to repress LLL and AC forever.

 

Wanted to get Forever Halloween and Imaginary Numbers last year, site literally crashed when I had it in my cart. Got no response from the band, I was LIVID

 

Those both feel like they'll inevitably get another run, but now I'm worried I won't be able to get my hands on copies even when they do!

 

Same. I thought there was no way they really only had 500 black copies available and was late today, must have JUST got in under the wire.

Hannah got me XOXO for a present cause I missed it and she had to pay Discog prices on it. Just ... silly.

 

I have nothing from this band on vinyl and I guess that will continue. Maybe they’ll drop a box set someday and I will just grab that.

 

I had been looking at buying it on Discogs when I saw they were selling it on their site again. Lucky break.
