Same. Maybe it’s because I grew up reading subtitles, but not doing it this way just feels so odd to me. I’d also never read a translated book if I can read the original language etc.

 

Love riding a hoverbike all around the map. I have lit up 117 lightroots. I see one of them on my map and can't find there other 2 if there are supposed to be 120.

 

There's 120, and I was stuck at 117 too. The only way I found the last 3 was by zooming way in on the map and scouring it for any uncovered patches. The last 3 I found were in the smallest unexplored places, you'd never see them by looking at the map at a normal scale.

 

Yeah I’ve found a couple that were basically pointless. Either tiny little islands or some section that was blocked off.

Side note - holy shit, I just discovered and beat the huge spirit quest in the depths. I had no idea I was missing a major part of the main story.

Oh FUCK I lost my Hylian shield somehow in that Boko coliseum

 

I’m exploring a dragon sky island right now. I beat the phantom ganons, too. Oh and the water temple this afternoon.

 

You can buy a new one from somebody but it costs like 3000 rupees.

 

Yeahhh I did read about that. Is the Hateno quest tedious??

 

Sorry, I didn’t actually do it myself. I’ve been too scared to use the shield lol

 

Now I’m building a body in the depths.

 

I finally got back around to playing this today, and again I just roamed the landscape, picking up side quests, completing more shrines, and just overall enjoying an adventure.

I did find two things I cannot do without more stamina. One is taming that damn golden horse, and the other is fight a Gleeok. The latter I refuse to do out of hand anyway right now, but I sure won't do it without more stamina.

The reason this even came up is because I wanted to explore the cave in the coliseum, but unfortunately the puzzle to unlock the cave is behind Mr. Thunder Gleeok, and he wasn't very welcoming to me.

I did manage to kill another Phantom Ganon though. The Gloom Hands are really not that bad as long as you have the high ground and can bomb the shit out of them. Phantom Ganon is much more difficult, and I'm not good at the whole dodging thing. I killed it mainly by eating a lot of ingredients to keep my health up, since I also unfortunately was out of meals at the time.

I'm slowly clearing most areas on the Overworld. I'm deliberately steering clear of the Gerudo regions for now, since I'll do that when I get to that point in the main story. I might work my way back to the Zoras. Haven't decided yet.

 

Yeah I'm awful at flurry rushes so I'm afraid of fighting phantom Ganon lol. Weirdly I'm totally good at them against Lynels but absolutely nothing else

Heh I seem to be doing the same thing as you. Picking off things on the overworld and side quests, but completely avoiding Gerudo xD

 

Oh. Spirit Temple isn’t a full temple. Got it.

I mean, if you count putting the body together and the sky dragon as the “temple” portion. Then yea, it is. I was just hoping to get a whole new place to explore and there wasn’t as far as the actual temple area was concerned.

 

oh i thought you meant the gerudo temple. i associate them with 'spirit' habitually even though in this game its technically Thunder lol

 

Honestly, this is what made it so cool for me. I stumbled upon this yesterday, having no idea about that part of the game so I had no expectations for it at all. Since it wasn't an obvious temple, I didn't really understand the end goal for a while.

 

you should go gerudo. it was the most fun of any of the 4 temples especially the side missions you need to complete to get there.

 

132 shrines and counting, we're getting there

 

I'm still in the 70s.

 

I’m around 100. The only main quest I have left is to destroy Ganon. But I’m not ready to end the game. Time to side quest, shrine hunt, and fully open up the depths.

 

I just know I haven’t found everything in the Thunderhead Isles but they’re so annoying to explore, I can’t see anything in here
