If Phoenix is being considered a finalist, I’d imagine Beal is ok going there. And obviously Washington gets to accept the trade offer they want, not Beal. So yeah draft capital matters here I think.

 

If Miami is keeping Herro and opting to send picks for Beal instead, there’s not a scenario where they can get Dame too.

 

On the off chance he finally tells Portland to let him go - maybe we wait on the Beal trade lol

That doesn’t mean draft capital isn’t important, which is pretty much what you’re saying. Beal can only reject trades, he can’t accept them. And if Washington wants drafts picks, they’re not going to really be able to make a deal with Phoenix unless another team is involved.

 

No he can reject what he’s traded for too - that’s why it’s such a unique NTC and why analysts are saying not to expect much in return for Beal

It’s more than just a normal NTC - Wizards have very little if any bargaining power - they either agree to where Beal wants to go and what compensation goes back or they just keep that absurd contract

Beal could agree to go to Phoenix but then he also decides what he is traded for
