Agreed, particularly for City. I don't exactly see where he would fit and unless he would do like the John Stones role but Stones has been great there. He is definitely not going to back up Rodri so a lot of City fans are like why is he being linked here?

 

Aside from the "English premium" tag that gets mentioned, he's at the "right" age, doesn't miss a game and is statistically the best performer at what he does (interceptions) in the Premier League. If you break the fee down over the period of a five-year contract, which is what he'll likely sign, £20m per season for him doesn't seem too bad. Of course, wages will make the outlay even higher, but in terms of the fixed fee of £100m then I think it's about right.

Edit: As a back-up for City, he's definitely not worth £100m. As a starter for Arsenal or even United he is imo.

 

When you think about it, £10m is a gross and obscene amount for anyone, let alone £100m. But prices are what they are at the top level I guess.

£100m feels steep though.

 

I still think 100m for Grealish is ridiculous lol and that's even after seeing him play well for City.

But for a club like that, it doesn't matter.
