I'm still confused on how that was even Miles' fault. Didn’t the Spot say in this movie that he pulled the spider into their universe? So if anything, he ruined canon, not Miles.

Yeah, I could actually see this all ending up with no real villains, if they play their cards right.

I just had another thought. What if the Spot's powers go out of control and start opening holes in spacetime, and that's what caused Miguel and Pavitr's universes to collapse, and we're going to find out those universes still exist, but inside whatever world the Spot is tapping into?

Saw this again. Much better now that I know when it's ending and I can pay attention to the action scenes

    Which are all bonkers

I keep meaning to post this, but shout out to the brief cameo appearance of "classic" Spidey rogue, the Armadillo.

I love that scene. That whole sequence of him trudging across town without webs is so good

EDIT: wait I just remembered he uses webs to stop the thief. why was he taking the mta and taxis again? lol

As we saw, even what he did do had disastrous results.

Right just web them together and carry with one hand. Easy work.

Oh man I can see that I'm not the only one that had multiple fakeouts thinking the movie was about to end but then it kept going lol. I knew it had a cliffhanger ending and I thought it was the final scene like at least five or six times in the last 20 minutes of the movie

I don’t think Miguel ever blames Miles for being an anomaly. He blame him for not agreeing to go along with the canon once he learns about it tho

I know Beyond will have Gwen and co. help Miles back to his universe and help him to whatever to stop spot, but I really hope the movie does something that shows Miles that Spider-Man will always have consequences and that you can’t always save every person you want to. Garfield tried to keep Gwen around and in return she was killed. Tom tried to cure the villains and in return Aunt May was killed. Something needs to happen that is of consequence in Beyond.

Has there ever been a Spider story where Spider-[person] knew someone was going to die, like several days in advance, and it still happened? Miles is the first Spider-person to know about this event well before it happens, so he’s going to try his damned best to save everyone, just as every other variant tried to save everyone once they were in the predicament.

it’s not just the fact that he knew it. It’s the fact that Spider-Man always unintentionally puts himself in situations where things go south for him and the people around him while aiming for good intentions. Miles will have to learn sooner or later you can’t save everyone. For Miles to save everyone he wishes to save would be weak story progression. Like “oh, this person is in danger. Welp. No stakes. Miles can save EVERYONE”

The idea that you can't tell a meaningful and compelling story without death is what's weak, and leads to the endless parade of marketable deaths that plague comic books.

Guardians 3 told a powerful story without killing anyone.
