It’s absolutely their best record and one of my top favorites from last year.

I cannot get into this album at all. May download it for my flight today to give it another listen because it's been a while, but it just never grabbed me.

I also don't really like The Season so

I don't think it's bad, but nothing about it ever grabs me or makes me want to come back to it. I love Movement, NLAQ, and No Bouquet, however.

At this point Season is lowest on my rankings. Still love it, but doesn't have as much staying power outside of a few tracks.

I think I'm ready to say Kodak is top 2, which I wouldn't have guessed after the first handful of listens.

The Season is the best. Feel like I spent years just refreshing MySpace waiting for updates on that album.

I still wonder what this bands trajectory would be if they followed up the season a lot sooner with another banger.

I remember being at (what I believe was) the show where they debuted Burn Hot the Records and Bring it Home in Athens, GA at the Caledonia Lounge (RIP). Shit blew my mind lol.

I always listen to their latest the most. Love their whole discography.

Kodak is such a comprehensive record- leans into Nathan's singer/songwriter vibe (I def hear Bazan influences), moments of old-school aggression/angst (Feeling Well and AA Almanac slap), songs that sit in the vibe/groove (DFR could fit right in on NLAQ), musical technicality (I particularly enjoy Kyle's leads and Dominic's patterns). I just think it encapsulates both where they've come from and where they're going, and feels like a cohesive whole. Absolutely one of my favorites of last year. Just wish it/they would get more shine, because it's certainly deserved. Thought they sounded really tight on the MCS tour over the summer, as well.

Recently dove into Nathan's patreon... have really enjoyed some of the behind the scenes elements. Strong recommend. Folks who love The Season should definitely appreciate this past month's post....

I hope they keep that songwriting style they had on Kodak where the band pretty much followed Nathan's lead a la singer-songwriter album.

It's just absolutely elite songwriting to the point where I'm still discovering nuance on the 40th+ listen. Nothing drags on too long, the melodies are so so so well used.

    again: AOTY for me

Yea, I’ve heard some demos, it’s very much in the same style, but the tracking is going to be done bit different this time, more a band in a room!

Edit: Kodak was very much initially just Nate and Dom and then Kyle came in and did his stuff after, this time I believe they’re all recording on site together.

I still don't really like the last 2 songs on Kodak so that always gives me mixed feelings on the record. I love everything before that.

Oh man I LOVE Quitter Talk so much and wish it was the proper closer personally. Know Your Tell is the only track I’m meh on. I still think it’s Nathan’s best work to date.
