I will never forget this. Probably the worst draft decision I have ever been excited about lol. Granted I didn’t know anything back then. I remember loving that he was a beast in Madden (6’6” and 93 speed in a game where aggressive catches were fucking broken) and I thought we had an elite WR1 in the making when he caught a 46 yard pass with one hand in preseason lol.

Man was all of that dead wrong. I’ve never seen a tall player suck so much at scoring in the red zone. Big Ben Simmons energy lol

although, having two elite receivers is not self explanatory. Both Randall Cunningham AND Daunte Culpepper failed to even REACH a Super Bowl with Cris Carter and Randy Moss, TWO top 10 receivers of all time

And Culpepper and Cunningham were BETTER than Brunell too. By a LONG shot. But Brunell got closer than they did / went to TWO AFC title games, not one, with two top 30 receivers instead lol. The NFL is weird.
