This Duggar documentary is horrifying. It’s laying out so clearly how these evangelical cults groom kids to take away their agency and make them easy prey for predators. So many systems in place to exploit children and protect and enable sexual assaulters.

and it’s all so heavily connected to Republicans politics. These people are demonic, evil, there’s not a strong enough word for the damage they’ve done to generations of kids.

Yeah could definitely see that. There’s plenty of other factors that go into the development of hurricanes like atmospheric conditions, low wind shear, etc., (which I think is why climate change isn’t really going to cause more hurricanes, but likely cause more intense hurricanes) cause. ultimately yeah the warm water surface temps are a key ingredient to drive tropical systems to keep intensifying once they form. Feels like we’ve seen quite a few in recent years rapidly strengthen before making landfall (more than what was being predicted).

We got a new HVAC system last month and went with an electric heat pump system. The prices were about the same as the traditional gas furnace + AC that we were replacing, but even with the current tax credit ($2000 for us, per our accountant) it was cheaper to go with the heat pump.

Here's what he sent us, but obviously your situation may vary, this is not tax advice, etc.:
You qualify for the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit. For electric heat pumps the credit is 30% of cost up to $2,000. The pump must meet or exceed the highest efficiency tier (not including any advanced tier) established by the Consortium For Energy Efficiency (CEE) that is in effect at the beginning of the year the pump is placed in service. The CEE has a searchable database of products and their respective tiers which you can find at cee1.org

Natural gas furnaces also qualify, but the credit is 30% up to $600. The qualification standards are the same as for electric heat pumps described above.

NOTE: We didn't have any luck with a searchable database, but were able to download a massive spreadsheet with tens of thousands of combinations of systems and found the model number of the heat pump and air handler we were considering.

Taiwan has over 2 million reservists, literally runs combat training camps for high school students, they just opened up the reserve militias to women for the first time, and they have a 2 month stockpile of weapons to disperse to the millions of reservists if war breaks out. They also have an entire government agency dedicated to mobilizing the populace for all out war. But yeah NRA for Taiwan though lol

Also AR15s are really helpful against mainland China based long ranged ballistic missiles and naval blockades.
