Watching season two of Slow Horses and it is just as good as the first one. Glad to see it has been renewed for a third and possibly fourth season. Given the little discussion I see surrounding it, I had doubts whether Apple would give it another season, but it must do well numbers-wise. I need to give the books a shot but don't know where to start now that I already know what happens in the first two books.

I put on this Rainn Wilson travel show as background noise and it’s an affront to everything Anthony Bourdain ever did.

The only thing I need Rainn Wilson in is “The Office” and maybe “Super.” He’s kind of a grating personality.

This top 40 list Paste did last week is a much better HBO series tier list.

Band of Brothers is #3 in this one instead of #30. They also got the criminally under looked Generation Kill and John Adams both in very good spots.

“Reality” was pretty interesting. Not a lot of huge dramatic peaks or anything, but Sydney Sweeney is really good. I really didn’t know much about Reality Winner so it was all new to me.

  7. I'm rewatching Justice League vs Teen Titans and... I really hate that Kori's suit has a booby window. I love Raven's character design, though, and Diana's, and the way everyone looks in their civilian clothes. Still find it weird that Clark and Diana are dating. Still find Garfield's comment during Raven's flashback gross and unnecessary. Still don't like Kori's bathrobe scene. And, as always, still think Damian's a little shit haha. I don't like most of the dialogue between the teens, it feels unnatural compared to Young Justice or the Teen Titans show. The carnival sequence is probably the only part I really like, everything else is just okay. I'm looking forward to Jaime getting his own live-action film.

  10. I'm about halfway through Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!, the 1989 kinky romcom thriller by Almodovar, whose work I am unfamiliar with. It's equal parts charming and icky. I really like films like Bound, Secretary, and Professor Marston and the Wonder Women, but I'm not sure I like this one, maybe it's just aged poorly.

I guess I'm gonna skip Justice League Dark because for some reason it's not on Max, y'know, the streaming service for DC content??? I'm also gonna skip Judas Contract because it grosses me out, I can't stand to see Terra trying to be all sexy and seductive towards Slade like that. I guess this is the most faithful to the comics storyline, which I haven't read, but I'd rather rewatch her arcs in Teen Titans or Young Justice than go through that shit again.

edit: sooo instead I watched the next one up, Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay. I think Batman: Assault on Arkham is the better movie; there are a few lulls here and there, but this was mostly a fun time. Some of the gore in this is fuckin gnarly, and they got Tara Strong as Harley saying some pretty bonkers shit haha

edit2: I made a list! All DC animated films I've seen so far
from my experience, DCAU films (within the BTAS continuity) are usually much better than DCAMU films, the rest fall mostly somewhere in the middle.

edit3: Just watched Death of Superman. It's very, very good. Lots of nice scenes with Diana, and especially with Lois. We finally get to see more of the side of Clark that's the boy scout from Smallville, the side of Superman that takes the time to save a kid from falling debris during a huge battle. The Doomsday fight is really intense, with some of the best action sequences in the DCAMU yet.
There are way too many mid-credits scenes.

I think me and my wife were the only ones watching Saint X on hulu lol but hey we were entertained

The reviews are harsh but idk. We were into it. Fun setting. Some characters better than others. I had fun yelling at the screen "this Claire girl is the absolute worst and I hope the show ends with her friendless and homeless"

The finale was a little silly. We all knew that Gogo didn't do it and I don't even have an issue with how she died, but how dumb dumb Claire could piece all that together in a matter of days is nonsense

But overall didn't hate it. The relationship of goges and Edwin was charming imo.

I accumulated a bunch of Audible points the last 6 months so I used them to get audiobooks of a bunch of miniseries adaptations that that are coming to streaming this year. Masters Of The Air, Manhunt, and Shogun.

White House Plumbers was extremely average. Will probably forget about it in a month tbh. Like the saying about Watergate " the cover-up was worse than the crime", the cover-up was also far more interesting than the break in, and that just was in the background of this show near the end.

I liked how they showed so little of the break-in, and instead focused more on the kookie nature of both Hunt and Liddy. I think I’ve seen just about every documentary there is about Watergate, so this show was a fun and different way to showcase these two guys and how these events impacted them and those around them

I just finished watching Tetris right now and that was a fun little watch. Egerton has always been a sneaky good actor for me and it might have me watch rocketman tomorrow.

I’ll have to add that to the list.

truly why I hate streaming services is seeing it was made on paramount so I was like cool maybe it’s on paramount plus but nope not on any streaming service. This has been killing me lately with most movies I want to see. I might rent it soon tho.
