He is objectively very bad at this, but to be fair, trump is also bad at this, and just does *one thing* extremely well, which is simply preaching to the choir. I think the tightrope that DeSantis is trying to walk right now is probably the only strategy that has even a fighting chance of challenging trump in the primary, whether any of us like it or not - and it is still very much a long shot.

Everyone else in the GOP either bows down to trump, stays out of his way, or tacitly endorses him with their silence in obliging his objectively untrue lies. Recently, DeSantis has shown an inkling of actually going head-to-head against trump. I believe the Achilles heel for DeSantis is how does he manage trump's 'big lie' without alienating people that either love trump or are very sympathetic to him.

I have 50k in federal student loans that I’ve never paid. They said I made too much money to qualify for adjusted repayment (even taking into account living costs and my $600/month private loan payment).

They garnished my wages but the amount they can take is way less than what the monthly payment was. It took them 4yrs to garnish my wages, so when payments restart they can suck it and try to garnish me again.

Also, was able to get a loan for a car no problem and my credit score is still 750ish. Not paying the loans has had no impact on it.

Do you mind sharing what the garnishment was? I know it's based on income so no worries if not.

 

It was 5% of my disposable pay, my loan serviced was Great Lakes then Nelnet. It was such a small amount I was like ok, why would I rehab these loans and have a higher payment?

With how messy this whole situation is it’ll probably take the lenders another couple years before they put a garnishment back on me.
