Did some pre-draft scouting and I definitely got my sleeper picks ready.

I would love to see an offer sheet happen but I'm in "believe it when I see it" mode with them. Kind of surprised TB hasn't worked out a deal yet though.

Invited myself along on my mom's trip to Nashville next week because it means I can finally cross seeing a Preds home game off my list. Still trying to figure out how to swing Devils and Canes home games this year, I try to schedule trips around hockey and concert combos so hopefully the schedule works in my favor for both of them.

What Preds game are you going to? Enjoy it. That building is a blast. I'll be there for opening night against the Hawks on Friday.

the Kucherov situation is so interesting to me simply because I just don't see how Tampa can realistically sign him without making another major move.

It looks like they have less than $6 million of space right now. The problem comes next year when Hedman's new deal kicks in and they also have to pay Tyler Johnson, Jonathan Drouin, & Ondrej Palat (all are RFAs). Currently, they already have over $55 million committed to 2017-18 even without those guys signed, plus they'd need another goalie and a few more players to fill out the roster.

Like for all we know yz already has a solid deal but he was taking it down to the deadline to see if he could get a better one.
