Great to have these guys back and SUPER stoked for their upcoming tour and EP, but this single felt a little bland to me. I’ve only heard it twice and I’m sure it will grow on me. Just an initial reaction to it.

Super dig this! Way better than I expected after the hiatus, at least for my listening perspective.

This is awesome. Reminds me of a song that could be on Direction from the Starting Line for some reason.

Also, did you notice the Story of the Year easter egg in there?

Song isn't bad but it's definitely lacking energy. Listened to OA right after and it's quite the difference.

  6. Crazy how we can’t recreate something we recorded literally 20 years ago. Will try harder next time.

If you have to ask, you can't afford it

Chorus is definitely missing that extra lift. Feels more like a pre-chorus

  8. Stoked you dig it!

The director Jordan Phoenix did all their music videos from the recent album

  10. Ah yeah, the old “extra lift” conundrum.

Relax, we can't expect the same energy from the young lads on the 20 year old OA.
Plus...Mendez, Portman, and Young aren't even on OA lol.
New work should be relative to the recent great work of 2014 and 2017.

I dig the song! The drums are beautifully engineered on this.
I love how open the song feels production wise.
Josh Portman, if you're reading this...I love all the bass movements ya did on the song.
Those little hand claps in the background of the drum solo moment are a nice touch.
Can't wait to watch the video a little later. I'll edit in my thoughts.
I will say, it's so fun to hear Ryan in this form again after listening to him in his solo work form of 2018-2022 which is all great stuff as well.

Really like the song! Anyone know who's drumming on this bad boy?

My favorite band of all time. Thought 2016 was the end. Given Southern Air, Paper Walls & WYTTSY are my top 3 records out of a brilliant discography, and the fact this song sounds like a straight continuation of those 3 records, does it for me. Love this song; "Let's Go".

Listened to the Live EP play through last night. While the whole EP surpassed my expectations, my goodness Hiding In The Light. That song 1: is huge and 2: will go down as a fan favorite and top 10 YC song of all time.

I struggle understanding this. Each (2) chorus, introduces a new instrumental layer. You are certainly welcome to your own opinion, however, if you have ay doubt in "chorus size", just wait until you hear the rest of the EP. For lack of better terms "huge".

A fellow YC head like me!!!
This new era of YC has me all riled up too and has made me become active on this site again.
I avoided that early playthrough cause I wanna be surprised and immersed, one single is enough of a sneak peak for me haha. Very good to see you have great things to say about the other songs omg.. LETS GO.

    I didn’t realize @williamryankey was a member here. Awesome!

Can’t wait to see y’all in Atlanta in July! Super stoked. Glad y’all are back!

Age has nothing to do with a song having energy...? A lot of bands that their age or older still drop high-energy stuff (SOTY, NFG, Blink, Sum 41, etc.). Not saying it's always good, but the energy is there.

Exactly what I was hoping this would be (and then some). Reminds me of the feeling I got when I heard FoB's 1st single back - music you can tell the band WANTS to make and a real combination of parts of "the old stuff" but in a way that moves the band forward.

I get ya, but you did go way far in the past comparing past energy to new fruitful energy.

    Aaaachem!

I wasn't sure what to expect, but this is an awesome song and video. It doesn't feel like it "fits" into any of the previous album schema - feels like it's own new version of YC. Really dig the kinda tossed off "talk-singing" at the end of the verse lines - sounds like something O'Donnell would do.

This is 100% a natural progression for Yellowcard. Love everything about it. I also love the vocal delivery of the verses; different than anything Ryan has done in the past.
