That's wild given how, uh, American BFS sounds and their lyrics.

I don’t think any artist should sell a VIP package for $700+ but if they were to, it should come with a guest list spot for life whenever they come through your city again.

HA those VIP prices are absurd.

Meanwhile, the GA floor seems reasonably priced at $64 after fees.

I am amazed BLG has this kinda draw in 2023

What's the average cap on those BLG rooms? Seems like a lot of the spots State Champs hit and sell well on their own

It's not as good as Adam's 3DG but it's much much better than MDD

Boston is 5k. Pretty much every band is choosing MGM over HOB now.

NYC is a 3,600 cap venue.

Seems a tad ambitious for them, but who knows. I would've expected them to do the 2.2k cap Palladium in Time Square.

I saw BLG in 2009 w/Cobra Starship. It was NYC so Leighton Meester came out to do "Good Girls Gone Bad" with Cobra. That's all I really have to offer in terms of BLG discourse.

Shoutout to the Cartel/Cobra Starship/BLG tour in 2007 as well.

Which is a shame because that venue is pretty bad. The set-up is annoying in pretty much every way it possibly could be (restrooms aren't convenient, merch space is tight, no gradation to the GA floor section).

But I get it from the artist's perspective. A few of the tours I've wanted to go to (Gaslight Anthem, PS/DCFC, Frank Turner/Interrupters) could have sold out HOB pretty easily. So even if it's only 75% sold out at MGM, they're fitting more people in. So I get it... But boy has it decreased the money I've been spending on shows in that part of the city this year.

Was thinking about going to that BLG tour just for State Champs and then dipping after their set and get home at a decent hour. Then I saw that tickets were $50 before fees and that's a solid "fuck that" from me.

I haven't been yet, but have several shows lined up there for the summer. Bummer to hear that it's not great. I'm doing a mix of pit and seats to try to flesh out what I prefer. Hearing that the floor is flat is a huge bummer.

I got to Roadrunner at the beginning of the month and was generally impressed. Just thought it was a little too loud.

Yeah, I don't mind paying $50, but it's mostly because I really like the opening lineup for my date (Champs, Summer Set, Lolo). I'd pay $50 on that alone.

Also speaking of State Champs, whatever happened to that The Finer Things 10 Year Tour we were supposed to be getting? I really can't imagine that being direct support for a nostalgia tour in a non-arena setting is that much more financially viable than doing an anniversary tour for your own album.

Probably got scrapped for the BLG tour. Wouldn’t be surprised if all they do is a hometown Albany play for the anniversary

I just realized the Philly date of the PTV/ Used tour is sold out. That tour is moving a lot more tickets than I thought it would.

Edit: so is Asbury Park and Bethlehem, that’s a lot of tickets.

It feels like the designer must have been to a total of 0 concerts previously. The bathroom situation is very bizarre, to the point that the lines form up the stairs, and then the merch line also forms up a different set of stairs, and there's no bathroom on the first floor, which for room that size, is hard to fathom.

That said, there is a lot more space on the floor, so I guess if you're willing to fight your way forward, you have way more access to GA than you would at HOB.

Yellowcard or AAR/NFG will be the first sold-out shows I'll be attending there, so really hoping for the best.
