I don’t really care about retroactively giving Jim Brown credit. His long history of woman abuse is extremely unsettling. I get that he did a lot of things for the black community but this isn’t MLK having an affair, Brown was a violent dude who terrorized people around him when he was ticked off

but Payton can be considered “close” to Barry. As good as Barry was at juking guys out, that’s how good Payton was at breaking tackles. He was harder to bring down than Jerome Bettis, Eddie George, Derrick Henry etc despite not being blessed with that great size because he just outworked everyone in the weight room, had incredible footwork to dodge the brunt of the hit, and was incredibly instinctive about contact balance.

 

I like everything except the coleslaw. Just lettuce and tomato for me please (unless it’s like, classic soul food pickled cole slaw, not just cabbage in way too much mayonnaise)

 

But then how much do we factor in the team putting them in that position in the first place? I think Tucker would be a scarier postseason kicker than Vinatieri if he got more cracks at it haha. Can y’all imagine if he played in Denver? Midfield would be field goal range

like, I was legitimately terrified Tucker was gonna break his own record and make a 68 yard kick to erase our comeback and win. He’s made a 67 yard game winner AND a 66 yard game winner before, both with room to spare. I wouldn’t have been afraid of Vinateri like that, even though the dude was automatic from 40-50 yards out regardless of weather

I also wonder how much situational momentum has to do with it. Vinatieri wasn’t nearly as good as a Colt despite playing in a DOME

madden draft advice: ignore overall rankings. Go get young players with high development ratings. Unless you only plan to play one season, I promise you you want the 23 year old that’s rated a 78 and has superstar development over the 33 year old who’s rated a 92. That 23 year old could very easily be better than a 92 by playoffs year two haha

Here’s my team in our league, 12 teams, and IDP scoring is tweaked so that every position actually matters

My utter lack of any RB depth at all is fucking hilarious, but I am strong in other thin positions - DB, TE, and surprisingly K (backup kickers got STASHED so some people are fucked if they have an injury or if their guy has a bad year and gets cut).

Also did pretty good at backup QB (Cousins has been great for when Lamar gets hurt) and at getting a lot of young dudes who have their veteran careers in front of them. My strategy was to have a really consistent defense, because regular high scorers that don’t just have fluke games are pretty rare… @Swoos is the only defense that can keep up with mine.

When my team is ON I can score 350+ points and be borderline unstoppable. Ultimately though RBs still hurt me a lot lol, Etienne going down in my first year was horrible, and Belichick could doghouse Stephenson at any time
