Yeah, RB goat is an open and shut case.

The fact the Lions repeatedly lost in the wild card round with BARRY SANDERS is the best argument I’ve ever seen in terms of RBs not being crucial to success lol. If you can’t win with the best big play RB of all time then I guess runningbacks don’t matter and I lose that argument lol

Twitter is so fucking stupid that it’s making it severely impossible to avoid succession spoilers.

I muted so many words and it’s still showing me that shit

Also Jerry Rice best WR all time open and shut case.

even if Moss, Calvin, or Owens “could have been” better they did not have that grindset.

my favorite story is the Pro Bowl used to happen a week after the SuperBowl. Players don’t take it seriously at all, it’s just a fun break from the stress of the season right? Well the Cowboys had just beaten SF for the second time to go to the Super Bowl. Rice treats the Pro Bowl like a grudge match, constantly talking shit to Irvin who’s on his own Pro Bowl team telling him “I’ve already started training back home. I’ll see y’all next year”. And then the 49ers finally beat the Cowboys and won that SB with Steve Young lol

Every time I do the draft in franchise every team reaches hard so I can never get the player I think I have time to get lol then when I reach the game tells you you’re a loser for reaching instead of picking 35yr old trent williams lol

Rice has a better argument for the football GOAT than anyone else has for WR GOAT

I also want to reiterate how good Steve Young was. It has been said recently that his 49ers were super stacked but actually that was Montana’s 49ers and the Young era faced a lot of adversity and attrition. Their generational pass rusher Charles Haley literally went to Dallas and was a huge part of losing to them twice in the playoffs during those years lol.

He had to fill the shoes of who was back then the unquestioned Brady-level GOAT, with a team that had more holes, and still went to 3 straight NFC championships and won one against the early 90s Cowboys dynasty.

Dude was completing nearly 70% of his passes and throwing 3:1 TD INT ratio at the time, which was pretty unheard of then - Aikman / Elway weren’t doing that, not even close. Montana had exactly one season like that compared to Young’s four.

He was the most efficient QB by a mile before Kurt Warner and Peyton Manning ushered in the modern spread / vertical west coast offense. AND dude had actual running skills and wasn’t just a scrambler.

The goat argument to me is completely settled at

    QB
    RB
    WR
    FB
    Whichever Safety Ed Reed played

I’m prepared to say CB too but happy to hear a Revis vs. Sanders argument.

I think RB GOAT can be any of Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, and Jim Brown, but I don’t have a strong opinion about the order

3.5 lb picnic roast (pork shoulder), trimmed some fat off, put it in the crock pot with a diced yellow onion, some apple cider vinegar and this spice/sauce combo. Sauce has a little bit of heat to it. After 5 hours I’ll flip it and add some sauce and maybe a bit more apple cider vinegar, then another 5 hours. Gonna shred it then eat it on burger buns with some store bought coleslaw and frozen Rally’s fries. Nothing too crazy!

Yeah we need more special teams discourse. All this arguing about whether RBs matter or not and no one ever discusses special teams.

So long as special teams go criminally under-discussed, RBs matter.
