YPC is a fine stat

it is not the only stat

but if you sort towards the bottom (Michael Carter, Fournette, Rachaad White, Gibson, Hunt, Zeke, Najee) and the top (Herbert, Aaron Jones, Pollard, Etienne, Chubb, Stevenson, Jacobs), it passes the eye test on who was good and who was bad last year - not as a ranked list but as a general observation

… that’s in the stats too haha. What was his average yards before contact, very low. It was a negative number in some games, meaning guys were hitting him behind the line of scrimmage ON AVERAGE. So his shitty YPC might not be his fault
