CAREER yards per carry is a great stat when we are comparing the best RBs of all time because basically all those guys had 2,000 carries in their career lol so you know for a fact you’re comparing guys that offenses relied on and that defenses were gameplanning to stop

 

Okay but there are running backs who get goal line opportunities and are used in various different ways all over the field. That’s my issue with it and I don’t think saying “Well this guy is a feature back and this guy is a change of pace back” is the best way of determining any sort of value to YPC because there’s a lot of subjectivity to what a feature back or a change of pace back is and it’s not something you can just easily assign an arbitrary number to and say “This is how you determine it”

That’s why I’m saying just watch the games or listen to those that do (there are only so many hours in the day).

 

Also, I would never willingly engage in a conversation or debate about the best RBs of all time. Sounds like I’d be spending a significant portion of my time looking at Pro Football Reference lol

 

Yeah RB is too hard

 

I just don’t think getting 50 goal line carries instead of 35 is gonna influence YPC all that much. Sure there are change of pace backs who rarely get used in short yardage / goal line and power backs who are exclusively used in this scenarios, and I am accounting for that. But when we are comparing RBs with similar workloads, I can’t imagine the difference between their numbers of goal line carries is that wide

CEH has no business sucking this much. His vision wasn't the best and yeah he wasn't RB1 by any means but his success with Burrow should've translated.

Truly though what if KC had drafted Higgins or Taylor instead of CEH
