  5. Hah, I've eaten at the buffet at the beginning of episode 3 many times. It's been closed for renovations on and off for the longest time, though.

Is Platonic essentially Neighbors as a TV show?

Got the email about sharing Netflix for an extra $8 a household. Think after I Think You Should Leave, that’s where I jump off.

I jumped off after Stranger Things. Went back for some Power Rangers when JDF died. Left again. Came back for something, then left again. Haha I’ll rejoin for ITYSL and then leave again.

  17. Finished Love and Death. A little underwhelming considering all the talent involved, but I still enjoyed it. The depict the inciting incident in the finale, and it is brutal.

Has anyone else checked out that "100 years of Warner Brothers" special on Max yet? Seeing Zaslav trying adopt a "Walt Disney/Michael Eisner of WB" type persona is real funny.

  22. Batman vs. Robin - Pretty boring villain, I never really liked any Court of Owls stories in any Batman adaptations, maybe they're better in the comics. This movie functions better as a conflict between Bruce and Damian, as the title would suggest. Damian's always a little shit, but I really felt for him when he commented on how Bruce, Ra's, and Talia are constantly in his head

  23. American Born Chinese is so good! Manages to balance a high school coming of age story with a larger than life mystical conflict. Newcomer Ben Wang does a good job portraying the main character Jin, a timid teenager thrust into the spotlight, while some of the more affecting scenes of the season came from Yann Yann Yeo and Chin Han portraying Jin's parents, whose marriage is on the verge of falling apart. Jimmy Liu plays Wei-Chen, Wu Kong's son, who goes on a quest to Earth against his father's wishes, and befriends Jin along the way. Big wigs Michelle Yeoh and Daniel Wu--and, surprisingly, Ronny Chieng--all deliver great performances (and fight scenes!) as Chinese gods appearing in heaven as well as our world. Stephanie Hsu only shows up in one episode but of course is absolute perfection. Rounding out the stars from EEAAO, Ke Huy Quan plays an actor who we see thirty years after his breakthrough role as an Asian stereotype; his monologue in episode seven made me cry. So soon after Ms. Marvel, Disney+ gives us another win for Asian American representation.
