I know the defense is expected to be better, but we gotta stop the whole "They had a top 5 offense last year" as if we can just cherry-pick which stats we want to copy/paste from the previous season to the upcoming one and which ones we don't

For the first six weeks of the season, Goff is going to be throwing to ASRB, a washed up Marvin Jones, backup-caliber Josh Reynolds, a rookie TE, and a rookie RB, then they're going to expect Jameson Williams, who did next to nothing last year when he finally hit the field, to just step in and completely transform the offense?

I'm optimistic for the Lions in the sense that I think they have a very real chance of winning that division and perhaps even winning a playoff game because they have a good coaching staff, ASRB is great, and they have a good OL, but I'm pessimistic about how far they can actually go and I'm not entirely sold on their offseason moves.

Mahomes is my QB1 overall and if someone’s waiting for him to win more rings than Brady to declare him better, then theyre gonna be pretty late to what was always the right take *shrug*

Mahomes has like, in a few years, already matched Brady’s best stats over a season TWICE and put two SB rings on top of that to solidify it. You can say “Brady had 3 rings by now” but was it really early-career Brady who carried them? Or was it the combination of a very good (not yet elite) QB with one of the best defenses and defensive minded coaches of all time? Brady wasn’t *carrying* them to victory like that until later.

I'm not sure if Mahomes will ever pass Brady in rings, but, according to my very scientific eye test, he's pretty clearly the most talented QB ever

For anyone wondering, I slept like a king last night

 

absolutely not. He completed 5% more of his passes, had a consistently much better TD/INT ratio, and didn’t choke in the big playoff games nearly as often. Young is the only QB drafted before Manning to have a career QB rating above 90. He was the most efficient QB before the modern era period. AND he could run.
