this really is shaping up to be their best record since Wasting Light. Haven't been this excited for new stuff from them in forever.

 

I'm not a big Foo Fighters fan past the first three records — I think Wasting Light is their only 21st century album I'd ever play — but the singles have me eager to hear this album. Good call on the similarities with TINLTL.

Never thought I'd hear something like this from them. So good. Violet's voice blends so well with his!

 

I was at the Gilford show last night. Only my third time seeing them overall, but the first outside of Fenway Park. It was fun to see them play a more traditional shed, and it was a pretty intimate crowd by their standards - BNHP only holds about 9,000.

Of course, there's videos everywhere, but the energy in the place was really electric and celebratory that the band would even make a comeback. Dave definitely had a rough night, but he seemed so move by the crowd and just the whole experience. Cool set, nothing too out of the ordinary. Fun to hear two never-before-heard songs before.

There was a beautiful event poster done for the show and I wanted to pick one up, but the prints were $50 and I just couldn't justify it.

Yeah, Wasted Light is still my favorite album of theirs. Been waiting for an album that can match the caliber of that. This might be that album.
