I lived kind of out in the country/had no close neighbors until the summer before my junior year of high school, so I didn't get out much. Watched a ton of nfl network, stump the schwab, played madden. then my family bought a house in-town and I lived a block away from some of my friends for the first time, and they were KC fans, so I became one

    Lets Go. Prestigious

Dan Marino was my first football love

back in middle school/high school, I used to have a ton of opposing player jerseys though. Ones I can remember or that I still actually have in my closet:

    Steve Smith
    Julius Peppers
    Sean Taylor (RIP)
    Chad Ochocinco
    Ladainian Tomlinson
    Joe Horn

for the Jag bros- I also had a Fred Taylor jersey back when I was like 13 lol

He was a Ram. Their super bowl win was the first game I remember watching any part of as a kid and I was actually a Rams fan growing up. Never actually watched a game though and didn't give a shit about football until 2013, but my dad and relatives still updated me about how the Rams were doing lol

I remember his colts football card was one of my favorites so I must’ve thought he was awesome even then but don’t remember watching him much on the colts

I vaguely remember watching the Rams/Titans super bowl and the Giants/Ravens super bowl. I want to say Survivor debuted on CBS immediately after one of those? could be wrong

best QB before the year 2000 by a long shot. He’s somehow very underrated. Head and shoulders above Marino, Aikman, Elway, Warner, Moon etc

Steve Young’s numbers in most of his seasons would be top 10 for a quarterback NOW

I've been watching football every Sunday in the fall since i was a baby, and my family was Jaguars season ticket holders from 1996-1999 and from 2001-2004

I liked seeing the Jags win even before I understood the game that well. But I started "following" it in 1998/1999 when NFL 2K came out on Dreamcast... Madden 98 was my first football video game but NFL 2K was the first one i was good enough at to actually play a lot.

So I started paying attention just in time to fucking hate the Tennessee Titans for being the only team we lost to when we went 14-2 and went to the AFCCG. (But the Jags were the best team in NFL 2K1, pretty sure they were rated like 97 offense and 96 defense... we had something like 8 Pro Bowlers that year)

I think i really started to deeply understand football around 2004 after we drafted Byron Leftwich.

That's when I started understanding all the meta-strategy of the game, because I was also watching a lot of Peyton Manning at the time. (2004 was his record breaking season, he legitimately changed the QB position and ushered in the modern era, it was mind blowing at the time what he was able to do with pre snap audibles, fakes, and anticipation)

and I had just gotten good enough at Madden to start playing on All-Pro & building teams on franchise mode

I didn't become a draft nerd until like 2013 though because I got inspired by the mock drafts people were doing on absolutepunk (before it became Chorus). And I distinctly remember @CarpetElf being involved back then because he started out as a huge CFB fan so even at age 19/20 he knew more about the draft than most of us lol

i'll accept praise but back then my QB2 was Case Keenum.

Which to this day is the funniest way I've been wrong and right at the same time.

Still though I remember you getting excited about players in the 3rd and 4th round in our mock drafts in 2013 and thinking "damn I want to know that much aout the draft" lol

Your draft knowledge caught my attention like 2 years before we actually started talking and I invited you to the sports website lol

I remember Deion Sanders getting like a 98 yard interception return, and being so far ahead of the guy chasing him that he started high stepping to the end zone from 30 yards away

earliest memory of any football play. I remember it because I used to imitate Deion's high steps when i was horsing around the house lol
