I was listening to this two days ago. Felt like the right think to do. The time effort and artistic vision feel like word Opus isn’t misused here.

 

Yup, earns the name. It's a masterpiece IMO.

 

The term masterpiece is so over used, but I agree…this band release their masterpiece. Win for them and us. I still feel like I know so little about them and their motivation from this record, but it adds to the mystery maybe.

 

It would be a 4xLP, cost $100, and ship in 2024... and I'd probably still pre-order on day one.

 

The book they released is great. Really nicely designed and printed. I need to do a full listen through the album along with it soon.

This album was literally the exact length of my flight home from Philly/mewithoutyou's final show, so you know I had to do that.

We’re playing a short run of shows this Fall before digging into the ground again to produce something to emerge next Spring/Summer.

So for a few months after this run, we’ll be focused inside, quietly and eagerly tinkering -though we will be adding some items to our store in this time, and I will certainly update you all when these updates show their impish faces.

I will disclose a portion of the secrecy to you all: if The Idyll Opus VII-XII is the “big splash” we’re building to, we’re going to release a sort of parallel-though-related “kerplunk” before the reckless cannonball.

The main characters in The Idyll Opus: June, July, and The Alchemist each have their own musical personalities and worlds that The Idyll Opus as audio stitches together into one story. Like a meal with several courses, it sometimes shines the spotlight on one character’s aesthetic -like a single dish, or weaves them into a relationship, like a single dish paired with a single wine. At the end of the day however, The Idyll Opus is a cohesive meal that’s been designed to tell a story in its movement between all of these various courses and beverages.

But …sometimes I just want more of a single dish… Sometimes I just want dessert!

What we’re working on for this Spring/Summer is a result of this line of thinking.

 

I will take literally anything they give us. The Idyll Opus is a masterpiece
