With the voices of the Monty Python team, what a weird credit to list

Rob Riggle has to be up there with the number of movies in this thread.

Poor baby, you're starting to lose it.

I’d also throw in Bobby Lee being in a slew of movies that never happened.

Universal was hoping to reboot their classic movie monsters and The Mummy starring Tom Cruise didn’t perform that great so they abandoned future monster movies

To be fair, that Mummy movie was ass.

I actually think The Mummy was pretty entertaining by modern summer blockbuster standards. I mostly enjoyed it. But I also am a sucker for Tom Cruise anchoring a big movie.

I never watched it but on paper it sounds like the best movie of all time, I really don't know how it could be as bad as people say. I wish they would've moved forward with the Dark Universe.

Their problem was, iirc, it was being touted at the time as remake/reboot of Brendan Frasier’s The Mummy and that was a big mistake. Their target audience mostly loves The Mummy and holds it up on a pedestal. It’s just not a movie you try to “reboot” haha

It’s not that it’s franchise-killing bad. It’s just boring, especially for a Tom Cruise movie.

this is ironic since it’s performance literally did kill the franchise or whatever better term fits what people refer to the “dark universe” as lol

Sofia Boutella was also very cool casting as the villain.

  22. I only saw it once when it was in theaters, and I don't think it was great, but I do remember enjoying it and specifically thinking "how did Suicide Squad get a higher Rotten Tomatoes score than that"

This movie existing is why I'm telling you! People were bitter at this "reboot"!

(I have no real evidence for this I just remember there being some of that discourse at the time)

    Future entry.

I'm impressed how not even a single shot of this trailer looks interesting. That takes immense skill.
