I heard a lot of people say it was meh when it was released but I actually enjoyed it. It could’ve been slightly shorter but other than that, it was cool.

Shorter? It needed another 10 min before the head into the realm!

  3. There's a better movie somewhere there, I really liked how it ended with Scott being just as confused as the audience on whether he beat Kang or not, but the script and VFX for the Quantum Realm bring the whole thing down.

This is by no means my domain but the art direction for the Quantum Realm (and the movie?) seemed pretty messy and not very focused so I'm not even sure VFX artists would've had much more to work with had they been given the proper time.

I thought the quantum realm looked cool haha. Felt very much like some weird comic book. I also loved Modok's fucked up face though so what do I know!

Don't really know what purpose 10 more minutes would've served other than maybe more scenes of Scott just living life.

Wouldn't have changed the rest of the movie for the people who hated it.

  6. First rewatch since the movies. Scott telling Hank "God I admire you" when he enlarges the pizza is a great moment.

I cant put a time on it, but the movie really needed more time before the quantum realm showing Scott and Cassie’s relationship more. It is so rushed as it is now. Seeing more of their dynamic post blip would have improved their whole story together. How that could have been done has so many options. In general, they went quantum a bit too fast, IMO. The Scott/Cassie dynamic makes the most sense to explore more and let breathe a bit before all that. Honestly, more Cassie with the Pym family members would have been good to. It’s just all so rushed.

FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

This was better than I thought but that's due to rock-bottom expectations really. It was mostly silly. How did that dialogue between Cassie and Darren at the end make it into this though

That was Love and Thunder levels of not giving a fuck

Doubt I watch it again but I didn't hate watching it

  10. Finally finished this last night. Overall it was decent but I think I’m just worn out with the MCU right now to be honest. The look was really rough - so much of it just felt like people in front of green screen and closed in instead of feeling like an expansive world.

The MODOK thing as an idea I don’t mind but the look just pulled me out of the movie instantly.

I’m interested in the Kang storyline but overall just not as invested in the MCU as I was before.

    I do not exist.

Watched for the first time on Disney+. I enjoyed it for what it is, but nothing seems to blow me away with the MCU anymore. I'm glad I saw it on a TV as I think the visuals would have been awful on a huge screen.

Does this come after Loki or before? I'm a bit confused with all this Kang business.

After Loki Season 1 but before Season 2, since Season 1's end is what allowed for Kang's existence and the post-credits scene here sets up Season 2.

  17. I don't get the joke, but points

Also I wasn't slapping back at your post, I just think it's dumb that I have to see nearly every piece of Marvel entertainment to continue to follow the films

And while I get it, I also think the movies do a fair job of keeping the films enjoyable for people who don't follow every piece of media. My litmus test on this is my mother, who couldn't really care less about continuity or details and still manages to enjoy the films without getting every reference or making every connection.

    Die rad.

Barely got through this. First Marvel movie Ive seen since the last Spiderman and secured my feelings that Im over MCU. Never gave any of the shows a gander either. This one barely having more than 5 mins in the real world hurt it the most for me. The first two Ant Man films were fun because of the real life scenarios, this one just had star wars vibes at the cantina

Still gotta say what’s the point of shrinking or growing when you’re already so small that you’re in a world between atoms or however it is they describe it. The real world is what made that whole concept fun and interesting

I dunno, I think it's kind of limiting in storytelling if you're saying Ant-Man's powers can only ever be interesting if it's in a real world setting. It's also suggesting that Ant-Man's appeal is only limited by his power set, which is just simply not true.

Also part of his appeal was his crew and they weren’t in the movie. Don’t get me wrong, I like the movie. I don’t have anywhere near the problems most people here seem to have with it. I just like the other two a lot more.

I didn't miss the extra characters or the real world. I enjoyed this more than either of the other Ant Man films.

  24. First one is easily the best, I remember next to nothing about the second and this one, while occasionally fun, also had some actively bad stuff. So I guess it would come in second due to technicality

I should watch this again. But I remember liking the second one more than most people did too.
