Banners of Ruin: I got to the second optional boss a second time. The first optional boss is kind of a pushover, but the second optional boss is no joke. That's a big nope for me. As with Slay the Spire, beating the main final boss is hard enough. Just getting that far, and more importantly trying interesting things along the way, I'd consider a successful run.

TLOU: resubbed to HBO Max (while it's still called that) to watch the show, I think I'll replay the game with director's commentary on, get to where each episode of the show ends before starting the next one.

Player's Log: Opus: Echo Of Starsong.

Finished the game. Really beautiful and a very sad ending.

Achievement-wise, I got everything but five. One for beating the game in 8 hours, one for beating the game without dying, one for collecting all items (which I got fucked on from the RNG), one for amassing over 20,000 of the game's currency, and one for having three of a certain item in your possession.

That last one hurts because I have had more than three of those items throughout my run, but I didn't know you needed to have them all on you at once, I thought I just needed to have obtained it three times. So I screwed myself on that one.

Anyway, I'm done-zo. So now it's Zelda time, baby.

Actually I think that's too big a commitment and much too soon, maybe I'll just watch the cutscenes with commentary as I go along with the show

 

I mean yeah I guess it's a weird way to define a genre by mashing the names of two games together but it's much shorter than "adventure game with ability-locked map progression"

Nah. It just describes strategy games like Civilization. 4X is short for explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate.
