Only just recently discovered there was a Death Magnetic B-sides EP from Metallica.

 

Killing me to wait one more day for this frozen soul album

 

I heard it at the decibel Metalfest after party and it is def gonna be on a lot of top five year end lists.

 

easily my most anticipated record in (at least) a few years

it's "out there" but I'll probably have to wait til after work to spin it

 

New Outer Heaven album out July 21st, "features guest vocals from Pig Destroyer’s JR Hayes, Morbid Angel’s Steve Tucker, and Undeath's Alex Jones, guest bass playing by Tomb Mold/Dream Unending's Derrick Vella, and a guest trade-off guitar solo on lead single "Rotting Stone/D.M.T." by Dave Suzuki (Churchburn, ex-Vital Remains)."

I highly disliked the plural noun band name trend that started in the late 00’s into the 10’s with the exception of a few, but find the new nonsense band name era worse.

 

New Unearth album is pretty fun, band cannot make a bad album

 

I still revisit TOS plenty, but when I heard the new album I felt the same way I always have about them. Amazing parts, but they can’t give up those sailing Dragonforce-ish guitar lead parts. I can take like 2 at most before I’m eye rolling.

 

A lot of it was djent stuff too lol. Volumes, Monuments, Structures, Textures, etc

 

This band got jams, NIN covers awesome

 

New Frozen Soul is a certified banger. The main riff in Glacial Domination is super catchy. The Dallas Stars should make it their anthem. Pantera did a song for them years ago.

 

Varials, 2 different Architects, Depths, Districts, Boundaries, Issues, Circles, Currents…. It’s kinda endless across band genres for the past 12-15 years.

Bands it worked well for imho: Ramones, Deftones, Fireworks and Counterparts (AOF-derived)

 

God it’s so good

The Ghost-ified "See No Evil" is a hoot.
