The way the record industry is / promotes albums, I'd expect 5 songs, at least, to be released. One a month starting in June.

 

Reminder that no one is forced to listen to pre-release songs.

15 is the perfect track size for this band. I don’t see this being a short album, especially since they haven’t really released a track list less than 15 since TOYPAJ. Well neighborhoods was 14 but still

Disagree. I want a perfect tight album, zero fluff, and then they can give us some other songs later to enjoy on a deluxe. I think the current long album trend (for streaming) leads to more filler, and a tight album means they spent the time editing, refining, and crafting something. Would be a great sign.

 

Single for early summer and another single end of summer then album drop in October..…please

that would hold me over nicely.

Bummed about the wait but ultimately I am okay with it as long as we get a couple of singles before then (and because it’s completely out of my control so I sort of have to be okay with it)!!

 

So June 2nd is still a good guess if that image from the launch site means stuff.

 

I wish I could only listen to the next single and then ignore the rest til the album comes out

I’m expecting the album to be 12-13 real songs, and 2-3 short joke songs.

 

I think it’ll be somewhere in there, but I’m hoping we hear everything they’ve done in some capacity whether that’s a deluxe edition or EP later. That blurry track list looked like it had like 21 songs or something. This is just one of those bands where I want to hear everything even if I don’t like it. Haha.

 

Ok so I’ve had a day to process everything from last night.

Last night May have been one of the best shows I have ever seen. Not just from blink, but in general. The atmosphere of the entire packed out arena was special from the moment I arrived there with my wife (who I met because of this band) and my best friend (who introduced me to blink back in early high school). A couple of my best friends that I met on this very website were there, one lives in town and one drove from states away and brought his son (second generation blink mega fan) to his first blink show). These factors definitley aided in the night

I enjoyed both openers a lot, BSD and Turnstile both brought their A games. Turnstile doing a 5 minute drum solo when you aren’t the headliner was a bit weird but it worked.

However. It all became something truly amazing as soon as Anthem Pt 2 kicked in. Hearing blink like this was something I never dreamed we would get again. They all three were on point, Tom and mark both sounded better than ever and it really gave a sense that the band is in a new peak era.

Every song in the setlist sounded fantastic, even songs like First date/ ATST that are the ones I wouldn’t put on a personally made setlist sounded fantastic and went off. Tom and Mark looked so genuinely happy, the banter was hilarious. Tom even looked super happy playing cynical and BTD, like he really enjoyed playing those. He got really into the end of BTD, and it just felt like the band came full circle.

They turned the lights down and had everyone hold up their cellphones for STFTK. It was a sight to behold to see so many cell phone lights up that it looked like a starry sky and the cell phones seemingly lit the arena. Tom sounded amazing on that chorus, and hearing an entire arena singing along (to the song that got me into them no less), actually gave me a ‘hair on your arm stands up’ moment.

My wife and I danced at our wedding to ‘I Miss You’. This was the first time we got to hear any iteration of blink, let alone this new era with tom back, play the song live since we were married. That moment was especially cosmic in my night, standing there with her as it played.

Ghost on the dance floor got me through my grandfather passing back in October. Hearing that song made me tear up.

the stage effects and set up, their sound, EVERYTHING was done perfectly. This just felt so amazing. I loved seeing them the several times I saw them in the past. This felt…different. In the best way possible. THIS is a show I’ve always dreamed of. And it was perfect.

Damnit Brad they got so much of my money last night at the merch table I can’t see this now

 

October isn't even really that far away. I swear it was only the start of the new year last week, so it'll fly by like nothing :)
