With all due respect to y’all I’m gonna continue to enjoy and post about having a promising QB. It has not even been a year since his skillset arrived.

Yeah, if my QB beats a QB y’all have been hyping up for years, twice in one season, after years of my Jags getting shit on, then I’m gonna gloat about it. Let’s not act like half of y’all don’t do the same shit.

 

It’s a weird, salty double standard too because y’all are seemingly supportive of every other young QB with potential in the league… and of their fans being happy and getting ahead of themselves.

Sure I talk a lot but it’s not exactly the most surprising thing in the world that I’m this excited about having a legit QB for the first time since the new millennium. Everything critical I’ve said about Herbert or Fields that has bothered you… I’ve endured 10 times over with previous Jags QBs lol. I mean is anyone really that shocked I have a lot of words to say about this one lol. It’s a forum, y’all ain’t reading half this shit anyway

You can be excited about Trevor (which we’re here for) and also be wrong that what he’s put on paper to date is better than what Herbert has put on paper (which even got Dink to turn off Jag Off mode)

the two are not mutually exclusive

 

I mean if Trevor was an arrogant dick

or if the Jags were a team that’s always a threat and always gets lucky with new talent and often gets helped by refs etc

I would totally understand the salt and the rooting against us / him.

It’s the opposite though. He’s an incredibly humble and mature 22 year old that is turning around a franchise that’s been a bottom feeder team and not a threat to anybody for almost his entire life. I don’t see what’s not to appreciate about that arc / narrative if you don’t root for a division rival.

Sure I’m an internet loudmouth who’s overconfident about my opinions and so is @CarpetElf but that has nothing to do with the Jags that’s just US lol. (Let us have this for a little while though, for once our hype is about something true/real and not just a projection of us trying to *convince ourselves* not to hate a Jags decision lol)

 

Also, and I can't emphasize this enough, we don't necessarily need every single day to be a thought piece on the Jacksonville Jaguars lol

 

What we do need is the Mac Jones thought piece

Right? I wanna see more thought pieces about more players, not less lol.

I’d be stoked if we were talking in depth about more players - and I DO that, I don’t just gush about Trevor. I post long posts about all the players/teams I am excited about & about players/teams I am critical of.

I just love the details of football in general and I love those times when y’all will engage me on that level, especially cause then it’s not just me posting a soliloquy about the Jags because I’m bored - but actively being engaged in a strategic discussion with others
