Trevor Lawrence is *probably* great because he survived the worst rookie year ever and is already elevating his non-playoff team into a playoff win year 2. He has not fully proven it yet - still a chance that was an 8 week hot streak and not him actually taking the “next step” - but he would have to take a serious step back to not be on that “elite” trajectory.

Justin Herbert, we thought we were *sure* he was great because of those numbers and that arm, but still can’t get a playoff win with one of the best rosters on paper in the league and now that window is gonna start to close. He’s still very good but I need to see a win when it matters to say “great”

Justin Fields will probably be fine. Not great, not a total bust, a starter that can inflate the production of a good offense but will flounder in a mediocre to bad one. But there is a small chance the Bears get smart, or that he says no to resigning there and, gets resurrected by an actually good OC, and he becomes potentially great - *small*. And hopefully that happens sooner than later, his legs won’t be as much a factor if he has to wait as long as Geno Smith.

However, right now, his ceiling is Lamar Jackson’s floor, so while he has the benefits of extremely dangerous legs and big improv plays, and has a much better arm than a borderline starter/backup like Marcus Mariota… he’s not the adept pocket passer Lamar showed that he is capable of being in HIS year 2.

Also, I cannot stand the “worst rookie year ever” stuff. If Trevor is as good as everyone talked him up to be, Urban was not going to keep him down. I do not understand why the only people interested in bringing up Urban in 2023 seem to also be Jags fans. There Jags went from Urban to a Super Bowl winning head coach! It’s time to move on!
