The Dangerous Summer is a rock band from Ellicott City, Maryland. They released 3 records and 2 EPs throughout their career, gaining commercial and critical success with their debut Reach For The Sun. They reunited in 2017 and have a self titled album due out in January 2018.

Despite the drama and how awful some of the members were, their 3 albums still mean a lot to me especially RFTS

Reach For The Sun still really hits hard for me. The only thing I even remotely enjoyed after that is "No One's Gonna Need You More"

Still love RftS and the EP. Other than that I'm only really passionate about "I Should Leave Right Now" and "Catholic Girls"

he's from Baltimore and I haven't heard his name in a long time so I doubt it

I'm seeing Dreamcatcher (Bryan Czap's new band) this week with Owel though.

Haven't thought about this band in so long. Really turned off from them at this point due to the band shenanagans

GR still works for me. I like a lot of the songs on it.

WP and RFTS are on a whole nother level tho

RFTS is the only album by them I still revisit regularly. War Paint a little bit, Golden Record not at all

overall they're just going to be remembered by a very small few people as an average to sometimes above average band that meant a lot once but now its like eh you know they existed and thats about it. idk. they havent held up as strongly as i would've thought they would 4-5 years ago. but ive changed, my tastes have changed, and also their last album if i didnt mention was very bad imo!

still have such great affection for their first two records. Golden Record didn't really connect with me, musically or lyrically. still hope AJ eventually pursues music in some way again

  12. been a while since I've whipped out War Paint, will have to do that soon. wish they'd gone out on a better note

Man, Reach For the Sun was all I listened to for like 3 months after it came out. I thought it was the soundtrack to my life at one point.

RFTS is still an incredible album. Blakes review got me so hyped back when I was a lurker and god damn it delivered in every way. RFTS and METN meant so much to me that year and still do

Reach for the Sun and War Paint are all-time favorites for me.

Golden Record is not an all-time favorite for me.

RFTS is probably the only one I'd call an all-time favorite, but the other two are excellent as well. In fact, it's been too long since I gave War Paint a spin.

War Paint is timeless but i was surprised by how RTFS was just as touching as i remember it being a few years ago. i didn't expect it to grow with me as well as it did.

RFTS is a great album, showed it to a friend the other day who never heard of the band and he was hooked.

I feel like tomorrow is going to be a day to revisit the band's discography at work. I haven't listened to The Dangerous Summer in ages, but I used to love the first two albums.

Yep, I always forget how great it is until I put it on again. Absolutely love it, especially "surfaced".

i listened to war paint the other day for the first time in a while. i think 99% of my enjoyment of it is just memories and specific time and place it takes me to type stuff with the album. outside of that it's not very unique music

Damn remember this band. IYCOKMA, RFTS and War Paint both meant a lot to me at different times. Used to still listen to RFTS tracks last year when I was nostalgic drunk with my friend. Where I Want To Be will probably always be one of my favorite songs.

Damn I am listening to RFTS now and I wish I had rediscovered this last year because it would have packed a whole new punch.
