Agreed, I think punishing Mac for 1 year with Patricia isn’t too different than punishing Russ for 1 year with Hackett (though expectations still aren’t high for either)

got to be on cloud 9 if you’re a Seahawks fan. Not only was Carroll right about when it was time to let Wilson go, but he also demonstrated via Geno Smith that he can coach tf out of project QBs, and may deserve much of the credit for 3rd round Wilson being so good to begin with.


Looking back, Carroll is the guy who coached Mark Sanchez and Matt Leinart at USC, two surefire top 10 pick QBs who looked ready for the NFL but then clearly weren’t. Under his tutelage they overperformed as well. So now with the Wilson / Geno saga in the rear view we can pretty safely conclude he’s one of the top QB coaches in the league

If Lawrence doesn’t win a super bowl with Doug, the Jags are doomed forever

 

If Doug can beat peak Belichick / Brady with fuckin Nick Foles, Carson Wentz and 0 starting caliber RBs or WR1s what makes y’all think he can’t beat Mahomes / Reid with Trevor

 

I'm more comfortable punishing Russ because:
A) He's significantly older and descending
B) He got to throw to, I feel, significantly better weapons

But like, whatever. It's just silly some of the QBs getting ranked higher than him nowadays.
