Sad about this one. Definitely a band that falls into the "changed my life" realm.

Between these guys and NOFX calling it, really sad days for 13/14 year old me.*

*and 32 year old me now, let's be real.

So bummed about this, easily in my top 5 bands ever. Agreed that I really never thought they were the type to break up, I'm genuinely extremely taken by surprise by this. I'm sure they just need some extended time off though, they've been touring nonstop ever since Deryck got sober

At least we have that awesome sounding last album, and super glad that I have tickets to the Offspring tour and will 100% go to the final headliner too so I'm sure I'll have more to say once this is really closer to being the end

Absolutely loved this band in junior high. Did a school project about "my favourite band" and chose them.

Actually now that I think of it I wanted to listen to this kind of music and had no idea about it yet, couldn't even name a band outside of Blink, and thought all Green Day songs must have sounded like Good Riddance so didn't even think to check them out. Then the coolest song I'd ever heard came on and this guy across the room knew all the words. It was Hell Song. And my love for punk and indie rock really did start that day.

Still remember hearing the insane catchiness of the Makes no Difference intro riff for the first time, and immediately thinking "yep, this is going to be good" I'm so glad I got to see them live one time here in Norway. (actually in feb. 2020, mere weeks before the pandemic hit)

Said it on FB and I'll say it here, Order in Decline felt like Deryck and the band firing on all cylinders again, I think that's part of why this is such a shock.

Quite shocked by that announcement. I’ve never seen them before but will definitely try and get to a show on the next tour.

  7. Also part of why I’m so excited to hear the double album. It’s supposed to include reworked unreleased stuff from the past three records as well. Kinda feels like Deryck is tying up loose ends with this final release.

Totally agree. Still think it's some of their strongest work.

With all that happened to Deryck in the past and him almost dying, I guess I'm just thankful he was able to turn things around, get healthy, and give us a few more great albums. I hope the band is in a good place going forward.

I wish could hear what you guys hear with Order In Decline….easily my least favorite record from them.I said it before but it’s sounds like b-sides from 13 voices

I feel like Order In Decline is a much more refined version of 13 voices. I like both, but Order In Decline is stronger as a whole.

  12. Can’t do the lucrative reunion tour if you don’t label a hiatus a breakup, exactly

They’ll be back for an AKNF 25 year tour in three years

Eh.........wouldn't say so. MCR and Blink 182 had reached arenas before their split. Multiply that with a younger fanbase who never got the chance to experience them and you had insane demand. Sum 41 has been omnipresent for the past two decades so, like Yellowcard, they could probably take some time away and do 4-5k rooms but not arenas.

Blink and My Chem were on the way down from arenas when they broke up.

In 2011 My Chem played at First Ave in MN which is a 1,500 cap.

In 2017 blink played for probably 5-10k people at a Casino in MN. Then the 2019 arena tour with Lil Wayne had to add Enema to the marketing to increase their demand, and I think it still didn’t sell out the top level of Xcel Energy Center (20k) in MN.

In there most recent reunions, both bands immediately sold out Xcel Energy Center (20k) where basically every ticket was over $150

Yellowcard went from playing 1,000-1,500 cap venues in MN to a 8,000 cap on their upcoming reunion tour.

Yeah when I refer to Blink 182, I mean w/Tom Delonge. Their 2004 tour in support of self-titled was in arenas and amphitheaters and I believe they were also at that same level in 2013 aside for a few one-off theater dates. To your point, the Skiba era was definitely trending into Vegas residency territory (I believe they even announced one before the pandemic) so Tom re-joining obviously gave a boost to ticket sales.

Surely Brad has at least heard the singles from Infected. Maybe it’s because I’m Canadian, but those songs were huge here.

  24. i've definitely heard the singles, and i think that's why i never checked out the whole album. i wasn't as into that album's singles as i was with "makes no difference" or "fat lip" so i just never felt the urge to dive deeper.
