What an absolute ripper of a lineup.

Interesting. Wonder if RF gave them the option of playing the fest and they said "no" or if the RF presents show was all that was offered. Seems like kind of strange move on RF's part tbh.

Honestly, it's not that odd. I would imagine they'd be playing at like, 1pm for 30-35 minutes and getting paid peanuts. They'd probably do much better for themselves with a headlining gig where there's less of a merch cut taken, people are there explicitly for them, etc.

A band like them wouldn't really move the needle at Riot Fest, these days. It's also probably why Samiam is doing a headlining gig earlier in the year versus playing the festival.

Had a great time last time they headlined. I'd be into bringing them back.

Stoked we’re finally getting a new QOTSA album. I didn’t think we’d get one for another year or so… Wasn’t keen on the last one, but I hope the new ones rules

Had a brief "holy shit" moment when the 50 Cent tour poster had a Chicago 9/16 date listed. But it's the United Center. Not that I would have expected 50 necessarily but... It wouldn't have surprised me, I guess? Could have been a Roots stage closer maybe? I dunno. I feel stupid for even thinking it. LOL

Busta Rhymes is out now too, though.

50 at Riot would be sick, tbh

You can tell in the emails - fairgrounds or the shed. Was never a question for me.

I see they swapped the premium tickets to the other side this year.

It would be pretty cool. Not really my speed, but he's the right energy and aesthetic for a Riot hip-hop headliner. I could see him being a solid co-headliner for an evening (e.g., billed at the top of the poster with another artist who probably closes things out).

But I still feel silly thinking that he accidentally leaked the date. LOL

Man, I could not warrant $230 after fees for two premium tickets.

Would QOTSA be headliners though.. pretty much every festival they are playing this year they are billed second or third on the day

They would work between Death Cab & Postal

Basically $100 more than two for general admission. Does premium area include free drinks/food?

Free? No. You still have to pay but have premium options that aren’t available to GA. Seems like it’ll have access to the balcony over the fairgrounds but nothing special.

They played again in 2019 and were the same day as blink. So they closed the 2nd main stage. if blink wasn’t that day they prolly would have headlined.

They Were still a stage closer. Also they were a late add not on the original lineup. They replaced the pixies

Just cus it’s been 6 years doesn’t mean shit when it comes to qotsa especially with a new album coming out
