I dig the song but the production, especially on the vocals, is really weird and not good. Sounds like a demo

I don't understand why the song sounds so bad. Lyrics/music decent, seem standard Gaslight, but the low quality sticks out to me and I'm not even an audio nerd

Was at a Dave Hause show over the weekend and overheard a group talking about Positive Charge and all of them were collectively saying how the mix of the vocals sounded off.

Now I just feel bad that is the overarching reaction to Positive Charge lol

This song could be amazing with a much better mix.

The song is amazing and I can't wait to hear the whole album. It's so good to have them back.

Yeah I love this song. I don't consider myself an audio expert by any means but the mix doesn't bother me nearly as much as it seems to bother others. That certainly doesn't invalidate what they are hearing. Then again I felt the same about Hello Exile and Foundations of Decay which were similarly discussed as having production issues with vocals.

I'm skipping this round of TGA. Saw them last fall at the infamous "too much talking" NYC stop and it just kinda left a bad taste in my mouth. Hope everyone else enjoys though.

After cheating and having to google some of those deep cut song names, I'm now listening to the Señor and the Queen EP for the first time in ages.

Say I Won't should be a set staple.

    Set staples should be:
    Most of sink or swim
All of Senor and the Queen
    All of 59 sound
    Most of American Slang
    Most of Handwritten
    Most of Get hurt

I'll be at the show tonight (and Wed) - will report back.

On the song, I am ALSO not an audiophile and it sounds like a demo to me too, vocally, which is really strange. I mean, that has to be on purpose, right? They didn't accidentally make it sound shitty and nobody noticed. The song itself is good and very Gaslight which was my hope, was mostly concerned it would be like Stay Vicious, off the path, and their one song I don't really like. I feel like Positive Charge will probably open the show tonight.

Lyrically it reminds me (in a good way) a lot of a Frank Turner song, anthemic and just HUGE super positive vibes. I very much feel like it's a "we are back together and I'm happy again" message.

I still think American Slang is a great set opener, but I don't need much of anything else from that album on a set

I think American Slang is a great encore opener, but they're pretty much eliminated the encore from their sets and just play through, which is also fine. After revisiting SoS for the first time in a while, boy 'Drive' would absolutely rip as an opener.
