Also, Yellowcard is playing Ocean Avenue in full at Lake Tahoe Is For Lovers. I don’t understand why they’re not doing it on their full summer tour

 

Because they have an entire catalog they don't want to neglect.

They're playing it in full at several festivals and they played in full at Riot Fest - they also played it in full for an entire tour for the 10 year anniversary. I get that people want to hear OA front to back but it's not like that's not an option. For the headlining tour I'm stoked to hear songs from their entire catalog.

 

BUT IT'S BEING ADVERTISED AS SUCH.

 

It's not.

 

"Celebrating..." And "playing in full..." Aren't the same thing.

 

the problem with that is YC is playing semantics with their fans, and that’s a bad, bad look

YC damn well know that by saying “celebrating…” they would boost ticket sales for the average fan who takes that as playing it in full, because that’s what it usually means

and, to my knowledge, they haven’t yet said they weren’t on any main socials, no? only in replies to comments or something, right? so unless you’re a chronically online YC fan, you’re going into this show expecting it to be an album play through

sure, they’re not *technically* lying — but they’re surely misleading their fans

 

I gotta be honest, I’m reality who really cares. They played like 9 ocean Ave songs regularly. All the ones people cared about. They will probably still open with way away and close with ocean Ave. honestly I’d rather hear lights and sounds instead of the lesser ocean Ave songs.

 

They've already said on all their social media they aren't playing it full. They aren't technically lying to anyone except people who didn't read the announcement which... Isn't their fault?

 

On their farewell tour, they played 7 songs a night off OA. Maybe they bump it up to like 9 or so for this tour, but that feels like plenty. I would rather hear a more varied setlist, especially since the band has been inactive for 6 years.

If the band was still actively touring, playing the album in whole feels like it would make more sense.

 

As someone who only ever listened to ocean avenue and haven’t seen them live since warped 05 or 06, I’m glad I’m going to a full album festival appearance. Celebrating an album means playing it front to back, if that’s not what you want to do then don’t market the tour as an ocean avenue tour. I just went through every Facebook post and nowhere in a post itself do they say they’re not playing it in its entirety.

 

I just can't believe we're still on this about Yellowcard's 4th best album.

 

They played it "acoustically" which, in reality, was just without distortion and was kinda pointless.

 

It absolutely does not mean that and you interpreting it that way doesn't mean that's what it means. Especially when they've stayed it's not that, and they've obviously stated that since everyone in this thread knows they aren't playing.

 

Except that's literally not what is happening, the band has come out multiple times already and said they had nothing to do with the graphic or the wording that was on it and they didn't mean any confusion.

I really don't understand what the big issue is here - they're playing OA in full at SEVERAL festivals, but not on their headlining tour where they're playing songs from their entire catalog for their fans.

If you want to see OA in full, go to one of the several festivals they're playing it at. That's it.

An average to casual fan of YC probably doesn't even know all of OA so they'll think they got the full album when they see them anyway
