When the reaction to the song is good, it's Max. When the reaction to the songs are bad its the character

They kept their bassist on for months after he was accused of sexual assault. Then they quietly fired him and announced it via email.

Hmm that definitely seems shady. I don't know enough about the situation to make a real statement, but doesn't sound great.

Sorry for being months late on this, but which cult did you have the pleasure of growing up in?

Oh my god. Haha You’re good. It was called Operation Save America, but we were also in some smaller groups associated with OSA around the North Carolina area. The previous head of the cult baptized Roe from Roe v Wade or something I think. The group was basically just like Westboro Baptist, but instead of like “god hates f***” it was like “god doesn’t like you being gay.”

I don’t know if that’s the best description still, but yeah. My family has been out for a decade this year, thankfully.

Always interesting/eerie to read similar experiences when it’s a different cult, they’re all one and the same essentially.

  14. Glad you and yours got out, that's scary stuff.

  15. With his signature snarl, Bemis proclaims in the opening lines of the song, “We are born again. We've died and sprung to life, so wet and fresh.” “Psyche!,” replete with lyrical nods to the band’s contemporaries in the pop-punk scene – “I will sing the requiem” (Saves the Day), “Blink and you'll miss” (Blink-182), “To the crucifix with Twin Fucking Forks” (Chris Carrabba) – is a near six minute long, stream-of-consciousness, self-referential and attitude-laden return for one of the most beloved bands to come out of the early-oughts alternative rock scene.

    lol the press blurb

the lyrics are eh, but that's probably the cleanest this band has sounded since the self-titled. but yeah, being a 13-second clip of a 6-minute song this could end up worse than IDTII and we won't know until friday.
