Plot twist: I can't really see Spurs getting someone in for the United game who would be good enough to trouble them.

We trouble ourselves enough for vibes to carry Spurs to a win.

Yeah they won’t bring in anyone. It’ll just be Mason in charge.

Would Mason really take it after being passed up the first time?

If Mason loses badly, they have to give to it kit man until the end of the season

picture the Leia “help me obi wan” scene from A New Hope but instead it’s Ryan Mason telling Harry Maguire he’s their only hope

giving it to the kit man is working really well for a fictional west ham maybe it’s the sauce Spurs need

We will not sign Kane. Levy will do everything in his power to make sure he ends up anywhere else

If Levy loses Kane on a free, it’s going to get even more toxic than I could imagine. Kane isn’t going to want to leave the PL. United are the only team that we would sell to that’ll want a striker and can afford him. It’s either we sell to United, or he just dips when his contract ends.

To be fair, we currently cannot afford him. We have no money and everything in the summer will be done on short term loans if the Glazers don’t sell in time. Well unless you’re interested in Maguire then maybe a deal can be done :crylaugh:

Just thinking about our keeper situation. Heaton and Butland might go, Henderson is 100% gone. If DDG doesn’t sign reduced terms we could get to a point over the summer where we have no senior keepers :crylaugh:

This off-season is gonna be silly between Chelsea’s fire sale, Barcelona trying to make room for Messi, Madrid most likely trying for Mbappe, PSG trying to offload Neymar, and whatever is going on at United, Spurs, Liverpool, Juventus, the Milan duo, etc.

Kane to Chelsea would eclipse van Persie to Man United on the betrayal scale, amirite?

  17. I’d say the reports of Kane leaving are being thrown out at a very convenient time. A couple weeks ago Spurs were supposedly confident in getting a new deal done with him. We get embarrassed and now there’s “little hope” it happens.

Not saying he won’t leave. But I could just as easily see him staying.

  18. And the “Conte was right” crowd can kick rocks. Sure he pointed out things we all already knew. But Conte was still part of the problem this season. He isn’t completely innocent here.

Yeah. On one hand, fuck RVP going to United of all teams. But also, everything he said was right, we had NO ambition of even trying to win things at the time, and he wasting his career. Overall, I don’t really hold it against him.

If Kane stays at Spurs, it’s one of the craziest wastes of talent, trophy wise, in modern history. Spurs should demand £100m and use that to create a better squad for the future. Maybe you spend a season or two in mid table developing them, but that’s probably the only way out of this mess.

  21. Conte has obviously won a lot and he can hold that over Spurs and make it easy for him to “be right”. But I think it’s weak to basically start lashing out publicly whenever things aren’t exactly what you want. If every single detail isn’t what he wants, it’s suddenly everyone else’s fault why things aren’t going well. There’s no adapting, no accountability.

  22. I think this is the smart thing to do. For all of Paratici’s faults, he did focus on buying young talent in the few transfer windows he was with the club. So I don’t think they’re miles behind in that department. But even so, the timeline for where the club is and where we want to go doesn’t match Kane’s career timeline. And this is the last chance to cash-in. It will hurt but it’s likely necessary for any long-term success.

This reminds me of the “Mourinho was right” crowd among United fans. Yeah if you remove all context e was right about a few things but he was also a major major problem.

Holy shit I completely forgot Mourinho managed Spurs. I was about to make a joke that they should hire him.

I was admittedly excited at the time, but hiring Conte right after seeing how poorly the Mourinho experience went was a terrible decision. The entire process that summer that led to Nuno, and then eventually Conte, was a disaster and probably the worst part of Levy's reign. It made the club look weak and like they had no clue what they were doing.
