    It has a living mythosaur.

I mean, not really, but it does have one.

Hopefully this season ends on a high note. It needs it.

I’m keeping expectations low. I’m sure it’ll be fine. Would like it to be great. But, based on the rest of the season, I think that would be expecting too much. I’m sure Grogu will be cute.

Pretty clearly the best episode of the season. Really like where they’re leaving off

Great finale and really closed out this season well.

Finale was fine. I may agree it was the best of the season. I felt the action was probably the strongest all season.

Now that the season’s over, the Pershing story does feel all the more pointless, at least within the context of s3. I think the only thing that it showed us was Elia and all that. Which now feels like could have handled entirely in the episode where the pilot returned to coruscant. Neither Pershing or the mind erase stuff returned. Seems a bit odd to focus so much time to end up with no payoff. Truly a bizarre choice to do that.

I always thought this season would be about taking back Mandaloreand it did ultimately go that route despite this season having a rough start.

This very much feels like the end of a phase 1 for the Mandoverse. It desperately needed a cut off point story wise. I don’t think I’d enjoy another season building up to a face off with Gideon. Now we have somewhat of a clean slate and the possibilities for adventures are wide open for our father and son duo.

And, now I gotta get ready for work. Busy morning with this and the Power Rangers special. I have more thoughts on this, I’ll be back later today.

I have no reason to believe that the force sensitive Gideons would not have killed Alpha Gideon as he’s the “weaker” version lol

    For sure.

Also, the one opened its eyes. I would assume he could survive being removed? I guess not though.

Praying to the Star Wars gods that Grogu learns to speak soon. Based on the flashbacks, he hasn't grown at all in 50 years (and Yoda was a Jedi Master around year 100).

Also, Din must be a name for adopted Mandos? Or part of the Mando culture where they use family name first, similar to Eastern Asian cultures?

Though the finale was good, especially the last shot. I wasn’t much invested in the Mandalore storyline this season, but with this ending S4 seems like it will be able to focus on a new story which is refreshing.

    More random thoughts…

I mentioned better action earlier, and by that, I was referring to the jet pack large fight. It gave us enough wide shots to see what was happening, but it tended to focus on Bo and the Armorer’s individual actions within that fight. I liked it more than the big fight in the last episode.

I am glad that Grogu was very active in the fights and wasn’t just a baby who needed rescued. I really liked him and Din taking out the guards together. And then when they joined Bo to take out Gideon.

Opps, gotta get back to work. Will add more later again.

The season was weak, but the finale more than made up for it. The ending seems like a good direction for next season

So who were the spies anyway?

Agree with what most everyone else has said. Finale was pretty good, I like the sort of reset they have going on for next season, I guess.

Otherwise, I still maintain that the rest of the season was pretty uneventful and could have easily been condensed or reorganized. The whole Pershing story feels MORE like a waste in hindsight considering how much time it took and hardly built to anything (easily could have been a small part of another episode). And yeah, calling that last episode "Spies" really didn't go anywhere either - I'm assuming it was in reference to Elia which was sort of a letdown of a "reveal" if that's really what was going on (not to mention, the title was pluralized alluding to there being more than one spy, but whatever).

I don't know. No real specific complaints outside of what was already mentioned, but mainly just feeling like this season was underwhelming and uneventful as a whole.

This isn't my theory about the spies but it's my theory on it now:

The Twelve Spies, as recorded in the Book of Numbers, were a group of Israelite chieftains, one from each of the Twelve Tribes, who were dispatched by Moses to scout out the Land of Canaan for 40 days as a future home for the Israelite people.

This seems to align with The Mandalorians being the spies going in to scout their homeland before the invasion. It's the only way it makes sense.

That still doesn’t make sense. I mean, I see what you’re saying, but I don’t think there is a chance in hell that was what they meant by the title.

I mean, Favreau is Jewish. It's useless to think about really as we'll never know the reason for the name. I also don't think it's as big a deal as many do.

I enjoyed the season but, as a whole, I feel like Din didn't have much development which is disappointing.
