I was also at the show in Hartford in 2001 and they actually played the entire album that they’re about to release now. In full. It was already written back then

 

I agree. I was always pretty vocal about not being too fussed on Tom ever coming back, because I was convinced it would feel like the last time. I was certain things would never again feel like they do right now, and I’ve never been happier to be wrong

Same. I was (and still am) a huge defender of the matt era, and a couple years ago I would have thought we would never get to this point or get Tom back even.

I saw blink in Worcester in 2001 and vividly remember Grandpa's An Asshole

 

I am on the record many times saying, “fuck Tom.” But hey, the guys seem to be truly reconciled, and seeing that Tom truly put in effort to prepare for Coachella (which also means overall), it’s hard to be mad. Maybe third time’s the charm? If the guys are all happy and cool with each other, I won’t bash it. I enjoyed the Matt era, but I’m willing to give Tom a chance to actually want to be there for a reunion haha

 

I saw blink for my first concert in 2001. They played Happy Holidays, You Bastard twice and a couple other songs found here

I'm all in on Tom but I also won't be mad if Matt comes back down the road and they make that Cure/Crimson flavored album that would instantly be my favorite album ever

 

I think it’d be cool if he did every other major tour. Or something like that. Like, the OG does initial tour for a new album. They do another tour a year or two later and Matt comes out and they (all 4) play songs from all eras of the bands. They’ll still play hits, but a handful of deep cuts from various eras.

Are you sure you’re not thinking of them playing Happy Holidays 3 times? I have no memory of them playing Online Songs then. None of the bootlegs from 2001 have them playing it. Just think it would be totally random for them to play it once in Hartford and nowhere else. Plus they are band that has a planned setlist and doesn’t stray from it.

But if you’re convinced they did I believe you. I certainly don’t remember it though.

 

I use to write the set lists down and then burn the studio songs on a CD and play it to remember the concert by. Between that and setlist.fm it helps remember haha.
