If they are on the TGI tour as rumored then they are out (tour hits Chicago July 17th)

 

This is the Instagram comment section from their announcement of the WATT cruise on Thursday Sep 14… the actual 20th anniversary of the album release is Saturday Sept 16,they’re def playing Riot that day

 

I mean, there's not much crossover in that if a band is playing Fest it's not a guarantee they're doing Riot or anything like that. If it's a decent-sized reunion or album play the band may pop-up on both. But the top 4-5 lines is mostly all bands who have played Riot in the past. With a plethora of others scattered throughout the line-up who have played in the past.

Out of all the bigger acts I wouldn't be shocked to see Quicksand, Gorilla Biscuits, ALL, Braid, and/or the Smoking Popes at Riot. Could also see Direct Hit!, the Methadones, and a few of the smaller ones being likely.

They aren't on Fest, but I could also see Dan Vapid's other band Sludgeworth being on there. That would be a "reunion" get (granted they just played Chicago) and continue the tradition of Red Scare having at least 1-2 bands on the bill each year.

TBH, I'm expecting that to be an album play.

That's unfortunate. As a current band, they would have been a great addition to the lineup. I was hoping they would share a stage with Siouxsie if she is on it too.

 

Everyone get together and say a different answer. Then, if one of us gets it we share our findings. But also, this is probably one of their tricks.

 

Good call, someone who has one of these tubs, count them up for us and we will all make different guesses around the area.

 

I can't help but notice it says a peek at "A" lineup and not a peek at "THE" lineup lol they're gonna show like riot fest 2013 or something

 

I’m guessing it’ll be this years lineup, but only the first wave and with most of the bigger names blurred out. It’ll also probably come like a day before they release it publicly.

That Menzingers set last year was how I was basically introduced to them (I knew of them prior and had listened like verrrry briefly before) and it was awesome!

 

We're officially in "taunt people begging for the line-up even though we're still ~1 month out from the announcement" season over at Riot Fest Twitter.

I have definitely seen it but my memory is defying me.

 

They did FC and WATT on back to back nights in 2018 (and I was out of town so I missed it).

 

No GVF speculation this year...

It was Lincoln Hall. Ran into a friend at it. All coming back now.

 

XPoNential has moved to the weekend after Riot, so that's one less festival the same weekend

Between the open date (with an "off"/travel day after) and the fact that they skipped Chicago on the latest winter run... Definitely as close to a lock as we can get at this point.

 

Orville Peck July dates are starting to sprinkle out. nothing in chicago yet, would love to have him at riot.
