I have the red variant and my jacket did the same thing. Pretty sure they just used crappy glue.

 

K so it's more widespread. The edge of the vinyl shifted in the mailer so it was sandwiched between the flaps of the mailer so its got a bit of residue as well. Nothing a clean won't fix but at least it's not in the grooves.

received my sangria copy of The Valley of Vision today, and there's a piece of a label lodged deep into the grooves of the record, causing it to pop or skip. requested a replacement copy. despite being sold out, i'm hoping they have backstock for these kinds of fuck-ups (my copy of TMMOG was also sold out and had a giant scratch all the way through side A, but somehow they were able to ship a replacement).

 

Ugh, I hate when that happens.

My Belle and Sebastian "Tigermilk" and Weezer "Pinkerton" are like that. Fortunately those are widely available if I ever want to replace.

It sucks when it's on a limited variant. I hope you can get a replacement.

 

thanks. if it comes down to it, i'll just have to deal with the popping (it doesn't cover much of the record). just really annoying.

 

Same thing happened with my Life In Your Way record, but somehow the paper got stuck inside the plastic and it doesn't affect the play at all.

Dumb millennial question, but how do people ship records? I’m looking to clear some out myself. Does $5 (seems to be the going rate) really cover mailers, bubble wrap, and the service? Will any post office or UPS store have record mailers?

 

usually media mail runs me between $4-5, a packing tape roll is like $4, bubble wrap can be purchased at like Target for fairly cheap, and mailers can be purchased at a local record store if you have one.

I usually just charge $5 for shipping because I have hella leftover mailers from all the records I order

 

Recently grabbed a screenshot from either Fireworks’ or Dave’s IG (I forget, my bad) of what seems like the jacket for the vinyl release of Higher Lonely Power. FYI - quality isn’t the greatest.

 

I’ve seen shops just place their cardboard outside until the end of the day when they finally throw it out.

 

Well, just ordered my first kallax cube. I guess I’m officially in it now!
