Armored Core is exciting for sure but all we know is that it is going to exist, so I'm just not counting it till we actually know things

 

I didn't expect to see a Midsommar reference in the game thread, one of my favorite horror movies

Comics are the things with comics, they're often quite good, you should read them sometime, and also check out the comics thread if you haven't already, like, cross pollination from this thread to that or something

 

Honestly, of the threads that tend to get bumped almost daily on this site, I probably only frequent maybe about five to seven, and most of them are in the Entertainment Forum. I kinda just avoid confrontation most of the time. The politics thread scares me, half the time idk if the poster would think I'm too progressive or not progressive enough

 

I only enjoy the video games and "songs starting with the letter ____" threads

 

Haven't been able to game much lately but I finally got around to platinuming the Returnal DLC. One of my favorite games in recent memory. I could see myself still firing it up to try and get all the databank entries to 100%. The gameplay is just so damn good

 

If final fantasy 16 comes out and my finances are right I’m gonna probably cave and buy a ps5 ugh

 

Loop Hero feels really grindy, progress so slow I haven't reached the third boss yet. Cult of the Lamb has a better balance of stuff you can do with the resources gathered between runs, every time you return to camp actually feels impactful. Maybe that's the thing with a lot of rogues, it feels slow until you reach a point where it just clicks, and I just haven't gotten there yet.

 

Conspiracy or trying to reclaim the peak of the Dreamcast?

 

That was my problem with dead cells, over a few hours I made it to the first boss one time and got pummeled, it just wasn’t clicking even tho I loved the art and combat I just didn’t feel like I was good enough lol

Try it again with assist mode! It's been a big help

 

My bad opinion is I couldn’t get into Returnal. In theory I should love it but idk. Just feels way too big to be a roguelike and I didn’t feel motivated to do more runs after dying in the same spot.

 

there is a huge hump in the beginning of Returnal but after you get over it it becomes a baby game.
I love Returnal but I think your criticism is 200% valid.

 

Returnal is one of the only "hard" games I didn't find very challenging. I absolutely can't play Dark Souls, I find it unbearably frustrating, but I enjoyed my time with Returnal.

That being said I can absolutely see why people couldn't get into it.

 

Yeah it's definitely valid, I love Returnal but I definitely hit points where I was like "yeah I need a long break" haha

 

Dark Souls 3 I found hard, Sekiro first playthrough was really hard, and Dark Souls 1 was just annoying as hell, but the rest I didn't find too hard

Nioh is SO difficult to me though, and I do struggle with Returnal sometimes, it's interesting how people find different challenges in different things

 

Biome 3 and 6 were real tough for me and required a lot of patience and some stepping away at times lol. Getting to the bosses is a lot harder than the bosses themselves in my opinion. I think I beat every boss on the first try except for Phrike

 

I love Returnal more than I love my mom

 

honestly I might not be as good at Returnal as I let on, as mainly I just found a weapon that has leech and never looked back

 

I love how after Biome 3 (good joke at the end there btw) it essentially becomes a lot less roguelike structurally. Hard to explain but idk.

 

Biome 3 was a big hurdle for me but after that, it was pretty smooth sailing. Just got to keep in mind that you don't have to fight everything. I'm still loving Tower of Sisyphus but have plateaued hard in Phase 4. It gets to a point where you can't get hit more than once even with 300% health. I also wish they'd have added a variety of bosses rather than just adding more phases to Algos who's pretty boring.

 

So often my brain just refuses to accept this

i’ve been playing recently and I feel like those drones got nerfed tbh.
