I have been more offline recently and have no idea what's going on with this leaker guy

 

Of this ilk but possibly a sweeter note, my grandma always shoved snacks in our pockets secretly so we would have something to eat on the car ride home or would say "save it for later". It didn't occur to me until later that the reason she always did that was because she was born in like 1929 and lived her entire childhood through The Great Depression and having spare food was a fucking miracle to her in many ways.

 

Masshole shitposted super classified docs on Discord to impress his friends, pissed off US Govt & govts of basically all of our allies, got caught & is in big legal trouble, bunch of very insightful info came to light, media ignoring contents of leaks / info entirely & is focusing on doing the US Govt's job for them & asking how leak happened & what steps are being taken to prevent such a leak ever happening again.

Also, Eric learned that Dighton is a place in Massachusetts right near a beach I've been going to multiple times per summer for 20+ yrs now, at least since skip day junior year of HS.

 

Can't give security clearances to people who smoked or smoke weed but lets give them to 21 year olds who brains aren't fully developed.

I don't even know what a 'succulent' is in regards to plants (though I do agree it is a superb word), but I did just recently learn that you are not supposed to water orchids, you're just supposed to drop small ice cube(s) into the dirt like bi-weekly.

Someone gifted my coworker Joan a nice orchid and she put it up in the office we share, and another coworker of ours was trying to be nice and watered it for her, and she relayed the story to me in horror and all I was thinking was "hey, that was nice of the guy" until she informed me that he basically drowned the thing.

You can mist your orchids as well. A lot of houseplants are fucking finicky as hell. I ended up with a shit ton of them when my ex moved out so I became their de factor caretaker and had to learn quick.

 

How is Joan's orchard? Did it survive?


Somehow I do a better job keeping finicky plants alive than I do with ones that are supposed to be hard to kill

She took it home to try and rescue it, but that was weeks ago and I never heard any more about it. I'm afraid it probably perished, although I suppose there's a chance it's flourishing gloriously somewhere.

 

I.enjoyed watching that very much and he brings up many good points, but he's gotta go for a walk or something or he's gonna blow an O-ring.

I personally wouldn't leak that stuff but I support people who would / want to, and think the media's reaction in particular has been head-scratching at best, utter insanity at worst.

I keep hearing that he's facing 15 years in prison, but from what I was reading he can be charged for each individual document leaked and each charge can carry up to 10 years prison sentence as punishment, and its believed he leaked upwards of hundreds of documents.
