Visual snow (VS) is the persisting visual symptom of seeing snow or television-like static across their visual field. The snow and static tends to be worse in the dark, but can be seen in all lighting conditions. VS should not be confused with normal entoptic phenomena or vitreous floaters.

I actually know of someone who has visual snow. He says he found out about it a couple months after he got tinnitus

 

I don't even notice it, to be honest. It only hurts me when I look at the blue sky and that causes me to get dizzy. However, most of the time it's fine.

Having both sounds absolutely terrible. I have some minor tinnitus and having it any worse terrifies me.

Is there anything different about the way you view things like what's inside a TV screen or something? Sorry if it's rude for me to ask.

Not rude at all. My visual snow isn't too terribly bad, it's just bad when I look at the sky or other large objects that have the same color throughout. If I looked at a white wall, I would definitely notice the snow. It's really not so bad up close either as it gets worse the farther away I look.

 

I'm looking this all up again now. Do you also get other symptoms like poor night vision or afterimages or floaters?

 

My night vision is just fine, but I do get a bit dizzy at times when it's pitch black. I never have any afterimages.

 

It's not dibilitating in any way. It only bothers me occasionally at night before bed and that's been less and less over the years because I've become used to it.

Show-going and loud music on speakers and headphones really is the worst for our ears.

 

At SXSW, Music Cares hooked me up with some professional grade earplugs. Should be coming in a few weeks.

 

I loved beer olympics in college. Have fond memories of me and one of my roommates dominating one. We were Djibouti and took first in just about every event. One of the few we didn't we got second. It was some sort of chugging event. I'm not very good at that but my partner was unbelievable at it so that made up for it. Don't know if I've ever seen someone drink a beer so fast. Another funny moment at the same event was another group of our friends who literally could not make a single quarter. It was amazing and they eventually just had to forfeit.

I've been up since 7am. It's 12:30pm now and I'm still in bed. Doing nothing. I keep moving the goalposts on when I should get out of bed. Every hour I'm like.... meh in a lil bit. My hunger might entice me out idk

 

Every device is different and I'm no expert, but that's probably not "awful" for your hearing.
