You know what’s a good feeling? When an album is exactly as good as everyone says it is.

 

This is even more insane than i thought it would be.

 

Lyrically this reminds me of what I love so much about Hop Along, specifically Painted Shut. The vivid imagery, storytelling that faces both outwards and inwards, the accuracy with which both Frances and Karly depict life in small town America.

now that you mention it they would be phenomenal touring partners. we are also so so due for some new Hop Along right???

4th or 5th time through now, Bath County and Quarry are really standing out to me as two of the better songs here. not a dud on this thing

 

So I’m not gonna say “album of the year” until I’ve heard the new Waxahatchee album that MJ played on BUT…

I've listened to this once a day since Friday and plan to do so for the rest of the year. tremendous album.

Glad others like this, not grabbing me besides a few songs and “Chosen to Deserve” which is one of the tunes of the year.

Maybe just me and it may be a hot take. i really enjoy the music on this, but i can't get into the vocals at all...

 

I live in Wichita KS now, but I'm going to the show in KC the day before!!

 

This has grown on me immensely since Friday. Loved it from the start but some of the songs didn’t really register until a day or two ago. Quarry and Turkey Vulture back to back really is something else.

 

Haven't stopped listening since last week

Is it? There have been a bunch of albums that I've checked out because of non-stop praise and they just sort of fall flat. This definitely did not

 

I just don't understand how the recency of the hype would affect your enjoyment of the music but whatever I'm not tryna fight on the internet today haha

 

lower expectations = lower bar to clear so I don't get disappointed, but I feel you, enjoy your day brother

 

I really like the stuff on here that sounds like Duster
