  1. Looks like Alex and his team made the decision to move up to 205 win or lose last night.

They’d let Alex fight a top contender right away when he’s ready to come back 100%. We could end up seeing the trilogy at 205 if things play out right.

Just realized in the post-fight interviews that the person Adesanya was pointing at and talking shit to in the crowd after the fight ended was Alex’s teenage son. He’d mocked Adesanya getting knocked out in kickboxing when he was like 6 or 7, so Adesanya mocked him back imitating his dad being KO’d and Alex’s son was crying hysterically. The kid is like actually 13. He makes it easy not to like him. Alex has two finishes on you, and you’re immediately talking about running from the 3rd bout. The perception here is wild to me.

id love a trilogy eliminator; Whitaker vs Pereira. I think its a great match up great, builds the storyline storyline and the winner will undoubtly derserve the shot.

Issues are Rob has to wait for Alex to recover while Izzy could have 2 fights in that time frame but theres no contenders.
The fun solution is to feed Strickland to khamzat.

Over the long Easter weekend I decided to start at UFC 1 and breeze through all the fights I could, managing to get to UFC 86 or something, haha. Was cool watching the beginnings of all the popular fighters, seeing the rise of Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell, seeing the early days of some of the Pride guys, before they moved to Pride (and then back to UFC upon Pride being bought by Zuffa), the constant rise and fall of Randy Couture, how Dana White actually had hair around the time Zuffa bought the UFC, etc, haha.

You want to bet on whether or not he’ll be there?

For real though, it is pretty crazy that last year we had over a dozen fighters out of KC and now none of them are on the card next weekend because of that mess. I think Zak Cummings might be the only KC-based fighter on the card.

Volk/Yair and that fight is an awesome top of the card. I’m guessing since Jones disappeared he won’t be on the card after all. They might as well strip him and have Stipe fight the winner of Pavlovich/Blaydes.

  12. Running out of time but I’m partially hoping they move Blaydes/Sergei back two weeks to 288 and make it for the interim

I freakin hate him but that would be pretty harsh on Jones. He just fought.

If they did all that with Francis only to have Jon win it and then have to strip him because they don't want to pay him...

Tomorrow's card isn't the most stacked in terms of big names, but man, there are like a dozen guaranteed bangers on there. I absolutely can't wait to be there live (albeit in the nose bleeds haha).

Man, Clay Guida is still fighting? Surely he’s one of the longest tenured fighters the UFC has ever had. Paychecks must be too good to stop fighting

yeah my tickets aren’t great but I don’t think it will be too bad. The Lincoln and Wichita events I went to we had mid level seating and I remember thinking sitting higher up might be kinda cool so I’m feeling optimistic.

Waiting in line for the ceremonial weigh ins now. I’m really excited for tomorrow!

Nice! I wish I was already in Kansas City for that stuff. At the event in KC 5 or 6 years ago they did that "Fan Experience" thing outside on the street before the event started which was a lot of fun.

Clay is going to alternate wins/losses on every Fight Night card from here on out until the Sun collapses and ends life as we know it.

I think Guida has the current longest active streak in the UFC (since October 2006), but Ed Herman made his UFC debut four months earlier with just one single fight in Strikeforce to break up his time in the UFC..... both of whom are on tomorrow's card lol.

Arlovski has to be the only active fighter who made his UFC debut earlier than those two did, right?
