Xhaka and Trent look like walking red cards

 

He did put one very nice ball into the box from a central area; in games that they can get on the front foot a lot it could work very well. He’s so casual in defence though lol, it’s even more noticeable when he is in the middle

 

Arsenal did us a favour in the last ten minutes. Salah's fully in charge on his side of the pitch and we've threatened behind White on the other side a fair few times.

The rest of it's been a shambles. Whatever Klopp's idea was with the tactical setup, it's made the pitch smaller in possession. Konate defending acres of space in the outside right channel, Trent stuck in the middle, encouraging Arsenal to press inside, with few options for an outball – Alisson was stuck more than once playing short passes to defenders who were pressed and consequently played the ball back to him immediately, inviting pressure. So much space for Arsenal to counter for the majority of that half.

He was frequently playing a more tucked-in role on the right last season and early this season. The problem is it isolated Salah wide against the sideline and it took away Trent's angle for crosses.

Today was the first time Klopp's played him as a no.6 in possession though.
